Situated on top of the Northcliff hill in Hollywood Drive we have 4 residential stars, namely Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Charlie Chaplin and our most recent addition, Annastatia Kabane - our very own South African star, named after our dearly loved housekeeper and friend. AccommodationA View on Hollywood offers 4 private rooms set away from the main house. Each spacious room has a magnificent view of the Johannesburg Metropolis. Rooms cater for individual travellers and groups of up to eight people. Ideal for 2010, Soccer City stadium can be seen from our pool deck. Charlie Chaplin, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe Rooms 3 of 4 rooms offer a relaxed and comfortable stay with 2 x 3/4 beds, cotton sheets, and warm down duvets, along with television, honesty bar fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and wireless internet connection available in each room. Annastatia Kabane This room offers 1 x double bed with the option of setting up a stretcher or sleeper couch for a child needing to share. This must be done by prior arrangement please. Wireless internet, television, honesty bar fridge and tea and coffee making facilities are standard. The en-suite bathrooms (shower) are well planned, with instant hot water, soft bath sheets and most frequently asked for toiletries. FacilitiesGuest privacy is important and the rooms offer just that, however, the pool deck and gym are communal areas, along with the gardens, which offer prolific bird life. Do not forget to bring the binoculars. Lounging on the rolling lawns surrounded by endemic rock and a huge open sky, while watching the city play at your feet, can only be experienced at A View on Hollywood. Breakfast and DiningWe offer a generous buffet breakfast, that even Vegans or Vegetarians will find appealing and includes a full English breakfast. Dinners will be supplied on request at an additional charge; alternatively we have a number of fast food outlets and a good family restaurant within walking distance. ChildrenChildren are welcome by prior arrangement and children over the age of 10 will be charged as an adult. Please note as our establishment is built on a slope, walkways and steps have to be negotiated, therefore it is not disabled person friendly. Children will need supervision. ServicesAirport shuttle service can be arranged. Tours in and around South Africa can be discussed with your hosts, and referred to a trustworthy tour guide. Please note ATMs, chemists / drugstores, doctors and dentists are less that 1km from our gate. Duvali (festival of lights) and New Years Eve can only be described as awesome.
