Slightly off the beaten track, the little red and green corrugated iron building that is Clementines Restaurant & Bar is something of a landmark in Clarens. Located opposite the Post Office in Chiurch Street, the menu at Clementines is kept fairly simple.
Starters include Blue Cheese and Walnut Salad, Lentil & Coriander Soup or Aocado Ritz. For the main course try the slow-cooked Chicken Pot Pie, Pan-Fried Trout or Lamb Breedie. Watch out for the weekend specials, like the fresh rainbow trout with almond butter. The pub has a small but well-selected winelist. A cider, ale or stout from the Clarens Micro Brewery is worth the stop alone.
Tip:
The Lemon Meringue Icecream Cake is to die for!
This is laid-back country! If you are in a hurry the slower pace here will probably not suit you.
