Happy Valley, with its gentle lawns, lily ponds, and beautiful gardens, is short walk-away from Humewood Beach - one of Port Elizabeth's finest beaches and is connected to the beach via a sandy subway.

Designed for children and adults alike, Happy Valley is great for family strolls in pleasant surroundings. There are lily ponds, rockeries, gigantic palms and peaceful retreats in which to relax. In summer the gardens are illuminated by a colourful display of lights and various nursery-rhyme characters. A giant chessboard has been laid out in the valley on the lawn so you can enjoy a fun game of chess. Visitors interested in playing the game may acquire the chess pieces from the Beach Manager’s Office.
