Enjoy 4 star country hospitality within the ancient Cradle of Humankind world heritage site, close to Johannesburg, Sterkfontein Caves and Hartbeespoort Dam. This nineteen hectare Lodge offers an idyllic and safe retreat with seven luxury Suites, all with their own private entrances. It’s the perfect Honeymoon or Anniversary treat for couples needing to reconnect.

Our speciality is offering beautiful suites, private Jacuzzi’s and Spa baths, crisp linen, excellent food and indulgent massages, with that personal attention to detail - rose petals, candles and champagne.

ACCOMMODATION

Rothbury Country Lodge offers Self Catering and Bed & Breakfast accommodation in nine luxury suites, all with their own private entrances. All suites have hair dryers, bar fridges, complimentary tea and coffee, DSTV with M-Net and are serviced daily. Laundry, babysitting and internet and computer available. The lodge has electric fencing and access controlled security for your peace of mind.

Jacaranda Suite (Self Catering Suite):
Elegant and spacious. Bedroom with Queen-size bed. Private patio off this bedroom with 4-seater Jacuzzi and barbecue. Bathroom with spa bath. Fully equipped kitchen. Additional bedroom with 2 single beds or king-size bed.

Acacia Garden Suite (Self Catering Suite):
Romantic rustic stone and thatch rondawel in a private area of the Lodge. Queen-size bed, en-suite bathroom with shower and spa bath with glass ceiling, fireplace, kitchenette, private patio with Jacuzzi and barbecue.

Hibiscus Suite (Self Catering Suite):
Beautifully appointed Suite. Bedroom with Queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom (shower over the bath), underfloor heating, lounge with 6-seater Jacuzzi, glass dome ceiling, air-conditioning, kichenette with gas stove and oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and all the necessary plates, etc. Private braai area near Suite.

Bouganvillea Suite:
Luxurious indulgence. Queen-size 4 poster bed, spacious en-suite bathroom with corner bath and separate shower. Private garden patio with Jacuzzi and barbecue.

Ivy Suite:
Old Worlde romance. Queen-size bed, spacious en-suite bathroom with oval tub for 2 to stargaze through the glass ceiling. Private walled garden with an outdoor Jacuzzi and shower. Patio with barbecue.

Bamboo Suite:
Secluded, intimate thatch Suite in a private area of the garden. Queen-size bed, spa bath in the main bedroom area behind a screen, separate toilet, outdoor shower, balcony with braai.

Aloe Suite:
Egyptian Suite with King-size bed, or twin (2 single) beds, underfloor heating, en-suite bathroom with ball & claw bath, shower over bath. Garden patio with braai. DSTV.

Avocado Suite (Self Catering Cottage):
Decadent self-catering thatch cottage, 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, one with a bath, one with a shower, lounge with 6-seater Jacuzzi, DSTV, air-conditioning, steam room, kitchenette, private patio and braai area.

Jasmine Suite:
Tranquil thatch Suite, en-suite with shower and intimate Jacuzzi bath, DSTV, bushveld views, bar fridge, patio with braai.

On site facilities include a walking trail, swimming pool, jungle gym, pool table, darts.

DINING:
Enjoy an old fashioned breakfast or a romantic dinner in the dining room or on the patio overlooking the mountains, where our chef will tempt your tastebuds with a seasonal fusion menu.

SPA:
Unwind in the privacy of your Suite with a Hot Stone Massage enhanced with ancient Jericho mud or one of the many other treatments offered.

MEDITATION CENTRE:
Enjoy a meditation session using the Dhammakaya (or "Middle Way Meditation" in English) by resident Buddhist monk Phra Somsak.
