The Namakwa Festival showcases indigenous cultures and the celebration of the creative spirit of the people of the Namakwa District. It is a festival that seeks to promote cultural equity within cultural diversity. Arts and culture are not luxuries but power tools for nation building, economic development and job creation that will ensure the success of the African Renaissance.
Activities include: Annual Daisy Marathon; Miss Namakwa Festival (with Miss SA); Ladies Morning (with various radio and TV celebs); Community Builder of the year Awards; Potjiekos competitions (with 7de Laan actors); Circus Entertainment; Shows with snakes and birds; Exhibitions/Stalls Competitions; Street Carnival; Motorcycle performances; Cycle Races; Street Mile; Radio NFM Battle of DJ`s and Free style Dancing Competitions; Kookskerm Stories (story telling); Theatre and Dance performances; and various local and national artists.
