The DIY Depot Marathon and Half Marathon starts at the Bloemhof School which is close to the Sandveld Nature Reserve.

This is a fair and moderate course which goes out on the Hoopstad Road and then onto the beauty and scenic wonder of the Bloemhof Dam. All finishers of the race receive medals and a floating trophy is awarded to the school with the most fun run entrants.

The half marathon has a three hour cut off time which is more than likely to accommodate walking competitors. The event is a fund-raiser and there is a great country atmosphere with stalls, a big TV and a beer garden.
