Weltevrede Wine Estate is a property for self catering in Bonnievale for tourists visiting the Breede River Valley region.

About Weltevrede Wine Estate

Weltevrede Wine Estate offers comfortable accommodation in a choice of four cottages and is a two hour drive from Cape Town. The estate is a Jonker family-owned and managed wine estate situated in the Robertson Wine Valley, just 5kms from the town of Bonnievale. This is an ideal location from which to explore Route 62.

Self Catering Accommodation

The self catering cottages are fully equipped and include linen and towels as well as a bottle of wine, grape juice, tea, coffee and freshly baked rusks. Wood is also available on request but needs to be arranged before arrival. The cottages boast fabulous views of the Breede River and the vineyards of the Weltevrede Wine Estate.

Belvedere:
This cottage, equipped with a fireplace, was named after the area of the farm it is situated on. Belvedere was one of the smaller fragments of land that was later consolidated to form the current Weltevrede Estate.

Ons Huisie:
This restored farmed workers’ cottage is the oldest house in Bonnievale. With its thatched roof it is a cozy hideaway for two, nestled between natural fynbos and vineyards.

Bidsprinkaan:
This cottage is the perfect retreat for working writers and the farm has thousands of books available on request. It was named after the novel Bidsprinkaan by Afrikaans author André P Brink. The fireplace makes it especially cosy in winter.

Botterboom:
This is the newest of our four cottages and was named for a plant found on the Weltevrede farm. It is equipped with a fireplace.

Guests can enjoy picturesque hiking trails, bird-watching, fishing and swimming in the Breede River as well as a wine tasting tour at the Weltevrede Wine Estate. Guests are welcome to bring their own bicycles or canoes. Activities in the surrounding area include golf, bowls, squash, and tennis.
