Self Catering Accommodation

Vrolikheid is a self catering holiday home in the Garden Route that has been lovingly renovated from an original fisherman's cottage, retaining the cottage homely feel with original yellow wood floors and furniture.

This two story home sleeps 8 comfortably with an additional single daybed should there be a need. The main bedroom is upstairs and furnished with a King-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, toilet and basin. This room can be accessed from the lounge.

The second bedroom is furnished with a King-size bed. The third and fourth bedrooms are furnished with a King-size bed that can convert into twin beds if preferred. The separate bathroom shared by these three rooms is on the ground floor and is fitted with a bath/shower combo, toilet and basin.

There is a comfortable lounge and dining area and a TV with satellite channels and Wi-Fi. The fully equipped kitchen contains everything needed for your self catering stay including a washing machine and tumble dryer.

It is one of the few houses in town that has a garden, making this space very attractive to families. There is a large front deck overlooking the bay, and a back deck which looks across the garden, the Wildside and has a braai/BBQ.

Only a 2 minute walk to the sea, this home is perfect for families looking for a seaside break.

The Area

Buffalo Bayis 20km from the small coastal town of Knysna and approximately 70km from George Airport. There is only one road into Buffalo Bay along peaceful farms and a coastal nature reserve. Buffalo Bay is a blue-flag beach, with safe swimming conditions and is one of the most popular surfing destinations along the coast.

Furthermore paragliding, stand-up paddling, kite surfing, sea- kayaking and snorkelling are a great way to enjoy the bay. Bottlenose dolphins and seals are common to the bay and whales are regularly sighted in the bay between October and December.

There is a 3km hike one can do through the indigenous forest around the town or run and walk all the way to Brenton on Sea. There is a small pizzeria and restaurant at the main beach, and as you enter Buffalo Bay a humble little restaurant that serves fish and chips, calamari burgers and sushi.
