About Tranquility Lodge

Tranquility Lodge is a very private open plan lodge nestled amongst the trees and overhanging a small stream on the Mamagalie Mountain Lodge farm. Here guests can enjoy accommodation in MooiNooi with majestic views of the Buffelspoort Valley.

Self Catering Accommodation

Tranquility Lodge is perched some 8 metres off the ground it is a true modern day tree house in MooiNooi.

The outside shower is suspended off the front of the lodge and is wrapped by the branches of the fig tree. The deck has a 2 seater outdoor set where meals can be taken in the company of the birds that reside in the massive trees. The double Jacuzzi bath with several settings and hand shower has views of the surrounding bush and although curtains are provided the privacy allows for a romantic open air bath.

The queen-sized bed (with electric blanket in winter) is surrounded by glass doors and although there are curtains the sensation of sleeping within the trees but shielded from the elements is an experience not to be missed.

The lounge area has 2 armchairs and coffee table with a large selection of books and magazines, a beautiful close combustion fireplace warms the entire unit during the cool weather. The fitted kitchen is fully equipped with 4 plate stove/oven, microwave, and large fridge/freezer.

At the back of the unit a private plunge pool and braai area with railway sleeper table and chairs offer more of the typical South African outdoor experience.

Load shedding is not a problem as a standby generator is installed.

Please Note

We are in a game reserve and no music systems are permitted, excessive noise that impacts other guests is not allowed. Ours is a walking farm and game drives are not permitted.

Remember to bring enough food and drink suitable for the duration of your stay, if you forget anything there are 2 large grocery stores within a 20 minute drive of the farm, however it is advisable to stock up prior to arrival.

Units are equipped with a safe large enough to carry a laptop, guests should use these to store any valuables.

Activities

Welcome the new day with a stroll through the secluded kloof, and listen to the exquisite sounds of the wakening bush. We have 1000 acres of private and pristine bush and mountain veldt for you to explore at your leisure.

An energetic walk to the top of the mountain will give you views you only dream of, and if it is warm enough, take a dip in the pure, sparkling rock pools. The bush is a nature lover's paradise, with numerous species of flora and fauna. Bird lovers are normally assured of sightings of the Black (Vereaux's) Eagle and Cape Vulture, as well as an abundance of the smaller species.
