This stupendous thatched family holiday home with its sweeping vistas over farmlands and mountains will take your breath away and infuse you with tranquility. You will want for little more with all the facilities in this upmarket home to cater for your every need. Janine, your friendly host, will welcome and assist you.

Self Catering Accommodation

Tides End has three bedrooms in the main house. Our home is spacious and decorated in an “Out of Africa” style with an unusual fireplace in an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room which lead out to a large under cover patio through stacking doors. This enhances outdoor living and makes full use of the spectacular views.

The main bedroom is furnished with an extra-length Queen-size bed. The en-suite bathroom is fitted with a separate shower, bath, toilet and basin. The second bedroom is furnished with an extra-length Queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. The third bedroom is furnished with two single beds. There is also a guest toilet.

The main kitchen is well equipped including a dishwasher. The double volume open plan living area with woodburning fireplace has stack doors that open onto a large undercover patio which leads onto the garden with mountain views. Gas braai facilities are provided.

The garden is enclosed and there is secure parking and a security alarm with beams and armed response.

When loadshedding occurs, the fun does not stop. We have solar lanterns, special bulbs in al the bedside lamps and of course a state-of-the-art gas braai for cooking.

The Area

Tide's End is located on the Klein River. Guests may launch their own boat or kayaks or step aboard the “African Queen” or “Lady Stanford” for river cruises.

Bring your bikes and binoculars or hike along the “Wandelpad” and explore the delights of
Stanford. Sample delicious cuisine in one of the village's excellent restaurants and get to know the region's great wines.

Pack your bags, organize your food, and jump into your car…. Stanford welcomes you with open arms!

The Area

Peaceful and largely unaffected by change, Stanford is an eclectic mix of shops, galleries, restaurants and coffee shops, and the list of activities for a largely rural village exceeds one's expectations. Like many of the Overberg towns, Stanford originated as a farm, de Kleine Rivers Valey (the original spelling), and the tree-lined streets today, filled with historical buildings, are testimony to the largely English influence that makes Stanford the third most historically important village in the Western Cape.

Attractions in the area include The Stanford Trading Store, Field & Tedder Wonderful Things, Robert Stanford Antiques, Birkenhead Brewery, wine estates, farm stalls and visits to Hermanus.
