The Warehouse is a highly recommended property for self catering in Krugersdorp for up to 6 guests visiting the West Rand region.
The Warehouse is a designer loft home set in a security estate on the outskirts of Krugersdorp, about 40km from the centre of Johannesburg and bordering World Heritage Site 'The Cradle of Humankind'.
This home was designed to look like a refurbished mid-century factory, but has distinct African farmhouse touches like a wrap around veranda with breathtaking views of the undulating hills that surround it and the Magaliesberg Ridge in the distance.
The Warehouse sleeps up to six adults in three spacious, loft like bedrooms, all with bathroom / shower en suite and balconies or patios that face north or northwest towards The Cradle of Humankind. The house is furnished with quirky attention to detail and lots of local art and collectibles from the 20th century.
The master bedroom has its own fireplace and TV. All three bedrooms have ceiling fans. The 3rd bedroom, called 'Old Johnny’s Workshop', is actually one side of the enormous living area, that closes with industrial doors to form a large bedroom with its own lounge area, patio and bathroom / shower en suite.
The entire ground floor is open plan, with a state of the art eat-in kitchen that boasts every mod con; from a gas stove to a Nespresso machine. The living room is enormous, with a slow burning wood fireplace for chilly winter evenings. The main TV is situated on the ground floor.
Eating 'al fresco' on the patio is one of the great pluses of this special home, as the gas Weber BBQ makes it all effortless and the table with seating for 12 often offers viewings of blesbuck, springbok, ostrich, nguni cattle and sheep on the adjacent farm. The 12m lap pool is the perfect place to cool off on hot Highveld days.
Rates are quoted for self catering accommodation only, but we do have the option of a pre-packed breakfast 'skaf tin' supplied at an extra fee. These traditional miners’ lunchboxes are packed with wholesome South African fare and come with Nespresso pods and fresh juice to give you a breakfast fit for a king.
Wi-Fi is free and fast at The Warehouse. Towels are luxurious and fluffy, linen 100% percale. Our 'butler brothers' Modise and Donald Seganeno have worked for us for many years and will come and clean for you daily if you need them. They will even do your laundry at an extra fee.

Very beautiful designer loft with a very inviting home appeal. The interior decor is amazing, you can notice immediately when you enter from the front door that there is extensive attention to detail. From WW1 minature bi-planes hanging from the ceiling to a coca-cola vintage ice box outside. The book shelf filled with novels and a collection of national geographics magazines adds to the ambiance, the kitchen has a retro feel with 80's kitchen ware decorated above the kitchen window. The staff who ushered us in were very polite, the welcome message on the chalk board outside on the veranda made us feel special. This is a five star guest lodge that should be on everyone's bucket list.
