Between Beaufort West and Hanover on the N1 there is virtually nothing. By nothing, I am not describing the beauty of the scenery, of which there is plenty, but the lack of any development. This part of the journey between Johannesburg and Cape Town begins to get a little, well, long. It is a three hour drive between the two towns, and unless a detour to Victoria West, Richmond or De Aar is ... cont.

Directions to Taaiboschfontein Guest Lodge

From Bloem / Kimberley: When you reach Three Sisters Ultra Shell, continue 10,8km on the N1 towards Beaufort West. Take Loxton turn off right on the right and continue 14km to Taaiboschfontein.

From Cape Town: When you drive through Beaufort West look at your speedometer and continue 62km on the N1 towards Johannesburg. You will see a board that says "Loxton / Kromriver" off road. Turn left and continue for 14km. You will see the entrance to Taaibosch Country House on your right.
