About Bushpig Lodge

Deep in the heart of the African bush, camouflaged by a canopy of trees, lies a hidden haven of beauty and tranquility called Bushpig Lodge. The thatched, fully-equipped lodge offers an unforgettable African bush experience with home from home comforts and good value for money.

Marloth Park Accommodation
The Bushpig Lodge consists of two bedrooms, each with a Queen-size bed. There are two bathrooms, each with a separate shower and bath. Bedroom one and two are air-conditioned while bedroom three and the living / dining area are fitted with ceiling fans.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, fridge, microwave, crockery and cutlery as well as all cooking utensils. A spacious open plan living / dining area leads to a veranda and an outdoor dining table.

The living area has a TV, DVD player and DSTV Select. There is a splash pool for your private use as well as a braai boma and fire pit. All linen and towels are provided and the unit is serviced at an additional cost.

Attractions & Activities

At the lodge, wake to a chorus of birds and enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the spacious verandahs. Watch in amusement as the warthogs get down on their knees to nibble the grass and admire the beauty of the zebra, each with its unique set of stripes. Impala, zebra, warthogs, monkeys, baboons, kudu and giraffe have all been spotted around the lodge. As they say in Marloth, you don’t need to go looking for animals, the animals come to you.

After breakfast, take a drive down to the river and see if you can spot some of the big 5. Having marvelled at the beauty of nature, come home and cool off in the thatched splash pool with a view into the bush. Alternatively, enjoy a cold beer or a refreshing cup of tea in one of the comfortably furnished bomas.

For those needing a siesta, retire to the comfort of an air-conditioned bedroom for a quick snooze or be lulled to sleep with a good book on the hammock. Make sure you get there first! Smart, our resident caretaker tells us that the monkeys take turns swinging each other in the hammocks. Smart is an integral part of the experience and he is highly commended by our guests for his friendliness and helpfulness. He is available to service the lodge at an additional fee.

In the evening, conclude a memorable day with a braai and let the beauty of the African sky work its magic on you. You will leave the lodge feeling relaxed and rejuvenated feeling that your stay was too short and that it’s time to start planning your next trip.

This is perfect for a family! Very neat, well kept, clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Enjoyed our stay. Maps and to-do lists were issued. It is a home away from home and centrally located. Within easy distance to all tourist attractions and friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money indeed.
