Activities
• Horse Riding - experience the beauty of your surroundings while breathing in the fresh mountain air.
• Hiking - there are numerous hiking trails within the village of Kaapsehoop. Most start from the middle of the village and are clearly marked along the rocks with painted footprints. There is the casual hike to the edge of the escarpment, where on a clear day you are able to see Barberton and Nelspruit
• Birding - there are many bird species found around Kaapsehoop, and many of them can be enjoyed right in the beautiful garden at Lambourn’s, which is always filled with blooms and bird attractions
Wild Horses
The approximately 200 feral horses in Kaapsehoop are one of the main attractions in the picturesque little village. Not all of the wild horses are shy and some are often seen frequenting the town where they graze on the open squares and the village streets.
Please drive carefuly when approaching the village and along the roads of the town, as the horses like to stand in the road and are especially difficult to spot on misty days.
