Mamagalie Bush Lodge is a highly recommended property for self catering in Mooinooi for up to 4 guests visiting the Bojanala Region.

About Mamagalie Bush Lodge

For a unique and private experience visit the Bush Lodge. This two or four sleeper unit is set in a secluded kloof and offers the ultimate in privacy. Set on 3 levels and raised into the tree canopy, this unit has been built to blend luxury with the environment.

The Bush Lodge offers stunning views through the kloof of the Buffelspoort Dam and Valley. The prolific bird life in this thickly wooded area will give many close up encounters with our feathered friends and a lot of the wildlife regularly visits the wetland area in front of the lodge.

Accommodation

The Bush Lodge sleeping area is a spacious Safari tent with wooden paneling on the inside, there is a steel roof over the unit to ensure that the bedroom does not get hot in summer.

The newly completed main bedroom is furnished with a double bed and has been constructed off the front deck using a steel platform and large glass windows, giving the feel of a luxury tree house. The curtains can be drawn but due to the very high privacy levels, if left open, provide stunning views of the Buffeslpoort dam through the kloof.

The second bedroom is furnished with two single beds if required or joined to make a King-size bed depending on guests requirements, once again large sliding doors ensure you are able to enjoy the spectacular scenery from the comfort of your bed. Additional blankets and hot water bottles are provided during winter.

The bathroom has been designed in such a way to maximize the stunning views this unit provides. There is a large two person shower with windows looking out over the valley or lie in the Victorian Bath and enjoy the same vista, a private 2 person outside shower is also provided. The separate toilet is similarly designed.

The lounge area adjacent to the bedroom has a wood burning fireplace with armchairs and coffee table, a large selection of books and magazines are provided in case of inclement weather. The large kitchen/dining room is equipped with a four plate gas stove and oven as well as a large electric fridge/freezer. All the cutlery and crockery provided is of a very high standard and all you should need to bring for your stay is food and beverages.

There is sundeck linked to the kitchen where you can sit and relax or enjoy a meal. The braai area incorporates a small plunge pool which makes the summer days a pleasure in this peaceful part of the farm. Wood/charcoal/firelighters are not supplied but can be delivered to the lodge if arranged prior to arrival. Two single mattresses make up a day bed underneath the deck for a restful snooze after a meal.

The unit operates on solar energy and while there is adequate power for lighting, cell phones and laptops, it will not power TV's, microwaves, hairdryers etc. The hot water is provided by a solar geyser and a gas back up is available in case of overcast weather, an outside double shower has an abundance of hot water for a unique experience.

The unit is not serviced in order to ensure that privacy is maximized but we can arrange for our staff to assist should you feel like total relaxation, prior notice for servicing is essential. Full electric lighting systems are installed and like all units the security levels are high and linked to the owner who lives on site.

Please Note

We are in a game reserve and no music systems are permitted, excessive noise that impacts other guests is not allowed. Ours is a walking farm and game drives are not permitted.

Remember to bring enough food and drink suitable for the duration of your stay, if you forget anything there are 2 large grocery stores within a 20 minute drive of the farm, however it is advisable to stock up prior to arrival.

Units are equipped with a safe large enough to carry a laptop, guests should use these to store any valuables.

Activities

Welcome the new day with a stroll through the secluded kloof, and listen to the exquisite sounds of the wakening bush. We have 1000 acres of private and pristine bush and mountain veldt for you to explore at your leisure.

An energetic walk to the top of the mountain will give you views you only dream of, and if it is warm enough, take a dip in the pure, sparkling rock pools. The bush is a nature lover's paradise, with numerous species of flora and fauna. Bird lovers are normally assured of sightings of the Black (Vereaux's) Eagle and Cape Vulture, as well as an abundance of the smaller species.
