South Africa holds national quilt festivals every two years. This includes a national quilting competition, special quilt exhibitions, workshops, lectures, a vendors' hall and much more.

The 20th Quilt Festival in South Africa, to be held in Gauteng from 16 to 23 August 2019. The venue is Heronbridge College, Fourways, Johannesburg on the border between the two big cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria.
