About the Bourbon Beer and Bourbon Festival

Retro and rustic meet in trendy perfection at the Bourbon Beer and Burger Festival in Johannesburg on 1 November 2014. This event is about complementing the fun and excitement of a day at the races with the deliciousness of locally brewed craft beers, deliciously intense bourbons and traditional, tasty burgers. In addition, new flavours and techniques will be introduced to ensure that even the most seasoned of burger and beer connoisseurs gets to enjoy something novel.

The Bourbon Beer and Burger Festival is being held at the Emperors Palace Charity Mile, which is an annual event that is held at the Turffontein Race Course. Through the day, six exciting horse races can be enjoyed. However, the Charity Mile is, of course, the event of the day. In this race, each horse wins a prize for the charity that it represents.

Visitors to the festival will also get to enjoy culinary delights of different kinds, as well as a fun, relaxed ambience in which to savour them in the heart of Gauteng. After the day spent enjoying tasty beers, spirits and food, there will be DJ’s to ensure that the party animals can dance into the night to awesome music.

There are three ticket options:

1. General Access (R150 per person) – this includes a complimentary bourbon cocktail or craft beer, with access to the themed festival area, pop-up food stalls, parade ring and race track.

2. Festival (R450 per person) – this ticket includes a free glass to keep, a bourbon cocktail or craft beer on arrival, and access to a specially reserved place within the festival, as well as food and beverage vouchers.

3. VIP (R1195 per person) – enjoy your delicious gourmet burgers, craft beer and bourbon cocktails in the VIP area, which has a private bar, totes and personalised service. This area is strictly reserved for corporates and select groups. Each guest gets to enjoy the hats and parasols that will keep them looking glam and protected from the sun.
