About the Umngazi Pondo Pedal
An exciting 3-day mountain bike (MTB) challenge - the Umngazi Pondo Pedal - has its cycle on the breathtakingly beautiful Wild Coast.
Enjoy Umngazi’s warm hospitality, cycle the most beautiful coastlines and help make a difference to Umngazi's local community’s neediest learners.
Situated in the lush, indigenous surroundings of the breathtaking Wild Coast in the Eastern Cape, award winning Umngazi Hotel & Spa offers the opportunity of cycling/running one of the most beautiful, unspoilt coastlines along the South African coast. The 4 day Grindrod Bank Umngazi Pondo Pedal is the epitome of purist MTB racing. Each day the races start and finish at Umngazi Hotel & Spa. Over 3 days, competitors will endure 115 kilometers and trail runners will enjoy 50 kilometers of varied terrain: single track, cattle track, district roads and swamp trails. The focus of the event is not only an opportunity to enjoy Umngazi’s warm hospitality & cycle/run the most beautiful coastlines; but also to assist in making a difference to our local community’s neediest learners.
