Meet Lisa

After my interior design studies, I specialized in Exhibition Design in Johannesburg where I received numerous Best Stand Awards. I am still involved with exhibition design work in Cape Town. I have had the wonderful opportunity of designing and styling the stand for Media 24 (Fairlady Bride, Sarie Bruid and True Love Magazine).

Having a background in Interior Design has given me the knowledge to assist you with capturing your vision. I have also travelled extensively and I have had the opportunity to live in London and Paris. This exposure has given me a better understanding of what is out there.

I was involved in the hospitality industry for three years running restaurants and organizing small functions. This is when I started realizing my passion for organizing weddings and functions and dealing with people. This is a service orientated industry and I truly feel that this background has given me a leading edge when it comes to understanding service delivery.

I moved to Cape Town in 2002. I worked for an events company whose main business is marquee tents. I gained tremendous experience in infrastructure. I had the opportunity to work on some exciting projects. These included golfing tournaments, horse racing events, corporate functions and of course many garden weddings. I was also involved in designing our stand at one of the wedding expo’s where I received “Best Large Stand Award and Best Stand Overall” I knew at this point that I was ready to embark on my next huge career move.

In 2005 Talk Functions opened its doors and the doors are continuing to open to new opportunities every day. I look forward to welcoming you and your partner through my doors with open arms.
