DESCRIPTION:

Von Abercron Residence is a 4 star luxury Guesthouse situated directly above the Hermanus Golf Course and adjacent to Fernkloof Nature Reserve with magnificent and panoramic mountain and sea views. It’s only a few minutes to the centre of Hermanus, the best places to watch whales or to the main beaches.

Guests are offered not only a high standard of comfort, but also a restful environment in a quiet, safe and peaceful area. Guests are invited to use the lovely garden with a saltwater pool as well as the barbeque facilities under the lapa. Enjoy nature with the sound of birds and unbelievable views, only metres from the superb golf course and mountain trails.

Accommodation


There is one double bedroom with bathroom en-suite and two apartments that can be used for self-catering (fully equipped) or Bed & Brekfast. Each room is individually furnished and beautifully decorated. All rooms have tea/coffee facilities, TV, the main DSTV channels, German TV channels, wall heaters, safe, fridge, under-floor heating, hairdryer and radio, while Internet access is available in the main area.

Blue Ocean suite
This is the prime suite consisting of a double room with Queen-size bed, bathroom en-suite, living area with daybed and library, kitchenette and big balcony with table and chairs overlooking golf course and sea.

Rose Garden suite
This is a beautiful spacious suite that overlooks the rose garden and fountain and consists of a double room with King-size bed, bathroom en-suite, living area with daybed and kitchenette.

Sunset Garden double room
A gorgeous African-themed double room with a Queen-size bed and bathroom en-suite that overlooks the swimming pool, lapa, mountain and garden.

Breakfast


The owner prepares a unique breakfast every morning, which always sparks compliments from all who enjoys it. Breakfast gets served in the breakfast room or under the lapa in the garden. We are quite relaxed about the clock and have a very flexible approach to breakfast times.

Facilites


There are deckchairs as well as tables and chairs around the pool and garden area which guests can freely use. Swimming towels are also provided. The Guesthouse is a non-smoking area, but guests are welcome to smoke outside. Secure parking is available on the premises.

Services


The owner is happy to offer advice and arrange local activities such as whale-watching trips, shark cage diving, horse riding, wine tasting, mountain walking, bird watching as well as book restaurants and golf tee-off times.

DIRECTIONS:

from Cape Town
Drive past Hawston, Vermont, Onrus and Sandbaai. When entering Hermanus via the Main Road, past first set of traffic lights and keep straight. At the second set of traffic lights the road will force you left, follow it and keep straight. You will then come to a four-way stop street, cross over it and keep straight. Drive for at least 1km until you see Shell garage and Spar on your left side. Turn left at the road directly after Shell garage. Follow this meandering road and turn right at the first road where it is possible to do so.

You are now in Fernkloof Drive. Keep in this meandering road until you go over a hill and see a small brown sign on the left side displaying: Von Abercron Residence. Turn left; you are now facing Von Abercron Residence, 75 Fernkloof Drive.
