DESCRIPTION:
Experience the fairest Cape in all the world, from the gracious Verona Lodge at the foot of the historic Signal Hill. The house was built in 1910 in the Edwardian style and retains much of the character of that era. Your hosts, Shane and Lea, will provide you with all the comforts required to make your stay in beautiful Cape Town, one to remember forever.
Accommodation
We offer five comfortably appointed double bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms with a shower. Each room has a mini-bar fridge, complimentary tea & coffee tray, TV, telephone, hairdryer and a wall safe. Wireless internet access is also available in some areas of the guest house.
Breakfast
A continental or full English breakfast is enjoyed in our dining room, or in summer, outside on our patio, where freshly squeezed orange juice, and lots of coffee is the order of the day. We offer a selection of cereals, breads and cheeses and eggs are made to order.
Sightseeing
We are close to the exciting Victoria and Alfred Waterfront shopping complex, which is 5 minutes drive or a 30 minutes walk away. The beaches of Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay are within easy reach. The City of Cape Town, with it’s many interesting markets and fine examples of Victorian architecture, is a few minutes away by public transport, and an easy 30min walk. The world famous Table Mountain and Robben Island are within easy reach, and the False Bay beaches, Cape Point and the Cape Winelands are less than an hour's drive away.
Activities
Cape Town’s soon to be completed 2010 football stadium is a 10 minute stroll away, and we are virtually across the road from the finishing line of the world famous Pick ‘n Pay Argus Cycle Tour. The Metropolitan golf course is close by, and a Virgin Active gym is across the road.
Tours
We will gladly assist in arranging a variety of tours for our guests. These include; the Winelands to sample many of the regions award winning wines, cheeses and olive oils, Cape Town city and Table Mountain, Cape Point to visit the most south-western tip of Africa, township tours to sample local produce and township life, or game drives and shark cage diving which are within 2 hours of Cape Town. Car-hire at competitive rates and airport transfers can be arranged from the Guest House.
We are extremely passionate about Cape Town and the Western Cape and are always willing to offer advice to help plan your day. |

DIRECTIONS:
From Cape Town International Airport
Take the N2 from the Airport in the direction of Cape Town. Follow the signs to Cape Town (N), Waterfront and CTICC (Cape Town International Convention Centre). As you get near the City, watch for signs to Sea Point (Seepunt).
The freeway ends down a ramp to traffic lights. You will see the Convention Centre and the Cullinan Hotel over to your left and to the right is the Town entrance to the V&A Waterfront. Go straight across these lights.
At the next set of traffic lights turn right. Distance between sets of lights about 100m. Keep on this road until you get to a traffic circle, about 1km.
(IMPORTANT - Due to road diversions around the new 2010 soccer stadium, from August 2008 until early 2009, the traffic circle has been by-passed - continue until the first exit left indicated by a Main Rd sign).
Take this exit and immediately turn right into Main Rd. Follow Main Rd for about 300m, through a pedestrian crossing controlled by traffic lights, and Richmond Road is on the left, indicated by "Verona" sign. Verona Lodge is the last house on the left in Richmond Rd, number 11.
