TNB is ideally situated halfway between Bloemfontein and Cape Town, 14 km off the N1 at the foot of the Nuweveld mountains. Your hosts are Markus and Nelia Fourie and they will make you feel at home away from home. A safe over night stay in an area with the most beautiful Karoo nature. Apart from its sheep farming activities the farm is included in the Kromriver Riverine Rabbit Consevancy in a beautiful part of the Karoo with a rich animal and bird life.We also have a growing aloe and tree nursery. Taaiboschfontein has a rich history belonging to the Scottish, Devenish family from 1890 until 1945 and then the Middelton Family until 1995. Guests are welcome to go for a mountain drive, climb a mountain or just sit and watch the stars. AccommodationThe main house has 5 rooms. Three rooms with en-suite facilities and two rooms with shared facilities. Two rooms just outside the house with their own bathroom and braai facilities. We also offer one self catering, beautifully renovated workers house, with two rooms and 9 beds. The house is fully equipped with stove, fridge, inside and outside braai. No electricity but lighting with gas and oil lamps and hot water with a big solar system. For the more daring guest an off the beaten track hunters hut is available for those who would live to experience the Karoo in 100% privacy. Please note the hunters hut only has gas and oil lamps. The windpump reservoir has been revamped into a real Karoo farm swimming pool for those hot summer days! Feel free to laze the day away in the water. DiningTraditional Karoo farm dinners are served at the main house. Farm style and continental breakfast is served in the morning. Braai packs available for self braai and farm products are available from Nelia shop. There are DIY braai facilities available for guests. Activities and AttractionsWalking trails are available for guests to explore. We also have bicycles available should guests wish to to cycle the bush and mountain trails. |

DIRECTIONS: When traveling towards Cape Town pass the Ultra Shell at Three Sisters continue for another 10.8 km on the N1 and take the Loxton turn off to your right, travel 14 km and find Taaiboschfontein on your right. When traveling towards Joburg stay on the N1 after Beaufort West for 62 km, turn off on to the Loxton turn off to your left continue for 14 km and find TBN on your right. |
