Realou stretches across a block on both van Wijk and Cabriere Str on the bottom exclusive vineyard half of Franschhoek Village. Realou is a historical monument painstakingly restored with yellow wood beams quarry tiles, Oregon Flooring, Corrugated Roofing and Cape Dutch Gable. Each suite has its own private outside entrance so your comings and goings are unrestricted. Each Suite has a selection of satellite TV channels and for those with their own laptops free WiFi Access. Some of the rooms have their own Spa baths but all have walk in showers. Realou has a swimming pool with an Outside Jacuzzi set in a private lush garden. It has all the comforts one could need to provide a peaceful and restful environment for enjoying the many Gastronomical and Aesthetic delights of this quaint little countryside village situated in the heart of the Wine lands. Safe, secure and private Guests can feel at home while sunbathing next to the pool or having a barbecue with their friends. This is just the escape needed to recover from ones hectic travels or a busy City lifestyle. Realou Franschhoek is a block away from Franschhoek best restaurants & shops and within walking distance to at least three of the Franschhoek wine farms and wine tasting venues. Franschhoek, only 80 km or 45 minutes from Cape Town, is ideally placed en route if you are travelling on the R62 Route, to or from the Garden Route, Hermanus or over the Mountain Pass. It is also less than 30 minutes from Stellenbosch and Paarl. AccommodationAll rooms have private entrances, five rooms overlooking the garden and two rooms are facing van Wijk Street. All guests will experience privacy at all times. All seven rooms are close to off-street parking bay's. Room 1 - Garden Cottage (sleeps 2): This suite has a Queen-size bed with a leather headboard and animal skins on the This spacious corner unit overlooking the garden consist of a queen bed, dstv, kitchenette with bar fridge, microwave & coffee station, open-plan spa bath in the room, heater & fans, separate shower & toilet bathroom, veranda table and chairs and private garden entrance. Room 2 - Garden Cottage (sleeps 2): The cottage room overlooking the garden has a queen bed, dstv, fans, heater, separate toilet and shower bathroom, kitchenette with coffee station & bar fridge, veranda table and chairs with private garden entrance. Room 3 - Garden Cottage (sleeps 2): This cottage room overlooking the garden has a queen bed, fan, heaters, dstv, separate toilet with electric steam sauna shower, separate victorian bathroom, kitchenette with coffee station, veranda table and chairs with private garden entrance. Room 4 - Main House (sleeps 4): Honeymoon suite in Main House on veranda overlooking the garden. Queen bed with open Mezzanine top floor with 2 twin beds & couch. Seperate Spa bath & walk in shower bathroom with marble floors and walls for luxurious lingering spa bubble baths. This unit is perfect for any business man, anniversary and birthday events. The room consist of fans, dstv, heaters, kitchenette with bar fridge, microwave & coffee station, veranda table and chairs with private garden entrance. Room 5 - Main House (sleeps 2): The Cape Dutch Suite is on van Wijk street side and is part of the main house. The spacious bedroom in the main house has a HUGE 4 Poster Queen antique bed, overhead fan, heater, bar fridge, persian carpets, a victorian bath with walk in shower & toilet, coffee station, office study area & dstv. This is a very cozy & very cool room. Private entrances to van Wijk str & into the Guest House. Room 6 - Main House This is a lovely spacious two bedroom suite in the main house with no garden view, sharing one bathroom with victorian bath, walk in shower & toilet, bar fridge, coffee station, dstv in each room, heaters & fans. Private entrance to van Wijk str & into Guest House. Room 7 - Main House The Realou Franschhoek Sun Suite is located on Franschhoek Cabriere Street which This suite in the main house overlooking the garden has a queen bed, open plan spa bath with overhead shower, dstv, separate toilet, kitchenette with coffee station, microwave & bar fridge, chaise lounge couch, veranda table & chairs overlooking the garden. Private garden entrance. LocationRealou Franschhoek is a block away from Franschhoek’s best restaurants and within walking distance to at least three of the better Franschhoek wine farms and wine tasting venues. This is just the escape needed to recover from one’s hectic travels in the City of Cape Town. Franschhoek is ideally placed on the map to or from the Garden Route or Hermanus and is less than 30 minutes from Stellenbosch and Paarl. |

DIRECTIONS: From the Airport on the N1 Highway (recommended) From Cape Town, pass Bellville and Brackenfell turnoffs. Take the next turnoff named Stellenbosch Klapmuts and turn right at the stop. About 500 meters (1500 feet) further, pass over the 4 way stop. After the 4 way stop turn left at the Franschhoek sign. Carry on with this road until it ends in a T-junction right after the railway tracks, at which you turn right. This road will take you straight into Franschhoek. Via the N2 Highway From Cape Town, pass the Winelands One Stop Engen Petrol Station. Take the first Stellenbosch turnoff and keep on travelling to Stellenbosch. This road will end in a T-junction. Turn right at the T-junction and travel into and straight through Stellenbosch (no turnoffs) and turn right into Hellshoogte Pass. After 15 minutes without turning off on this road you will come to T-junction. Turn right to Franschhoek. 19 km over the bridge and once in Franschhoek turn right at Spar. Realou is 500m down on the left hand side. |
