DESCRIPTION:

PlumPark View is situated opposite a small park in one of Cape Town’s southern suburbs, known as Plumstead. It is a quiet, leafy, centrally-situated area within easy reach of most parts of Cape Town and the Southern Peninsula.

Being away from the hustle and bustle of city life and heavy traffic, it has nevertheless, very easy access to the main highways which connect to all parts of the Peninsula and Western Cape. Plumstead is a safe neighbourhood, and the property has a lovely pedestrian road one hundred metres away which leads to a group of local shops which are 600 metres away.

PlumPark View is a secure, fenced property with automatic gate control which provides secure parking for cars. Furthermore, the flatlets have retractable security gates and the use of a burglar alarm facility when leaving the premises. The neighbourhood is patrolled by a local, private security company. Various excellent restaurants and shops are situated within a five to eight minute drive from PlumPark View.

ACCOMMODATION


There are two self-catering flatlets available:

Parkview
The first one, called “Parkview”, offers accommodation for a couple, or two single people in one bedroom, which has an en-suite bathroom with a bath, toilet and shower. It also has a possible second bedroom, which can accommodate another person. However, this person would have to share the en-suite bathroom.

A lounge and fully-equipped kitchen adjoin the main bedroom which has a TV with DSTV channels and air-conditioning. A sliding door opens onto a large, communal pool, and a braai / barbeque facility is available on request. A wall safe is also provided. The bedroom contains a king-size bed, with linen and duvet. Single beds can be provided on request. Bathroom towels and towels for use in the swimming pool are provided.

Plum Cottage
The second unit, called “Plum Cottage” offers accommodation for a couple in one bedroom, which has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, bath and toilet. Adjoining the bedroom and bathroom is an open plan fully-equipped kitchen and lounge with a TV with DSTV channels and air-conditioning.

A private outside table and chairs are available undercover. A sliding door opens onto a garden with a large, communal swimming pool, and a braai / barbeque facility is available on request. The bedroom contains a queen-size bed, with linen and duvet. Bathroom towels and towels for use in the swimming pool are provided.

We are more than happy to assist with bookings for restaurants, tours, airport transfers / shuttle services and car hire.

Muesli and wheat-bix and bread, for making toast, together with condiments, tea and coffee will be provided for breakfast. However, a full English Breakfast or full Continental Breakfast may be ordered at extra cost. Each flatlet is supplied with complimentary bottles of spring water, Rooibos and Ceylon tea bags, coffee, milk and biscuits.

DIRECTIONS:

From the Airport to PlumPark View
Exit the airport, and at the set of traffic lights, proceed straight on. and thereafter move into the right hand lane. This lane leads you in the direction of the N2 towards Cape Town. After approximately 200 metres, the road lifts up to a bridge leading to an on-ramp for the N2 towards Cape Town. Keep on the N2 and you will pass two huge Cooling Towers on the right hand-side. Take the first exit to the left after the towers. This is Exit 10 to Raapenberg Rd (M5 South). The very short off-ramp comes to a Stop, at which you turn left. Follow the signboarding to M18 Klipfontein Road, M5 Muizenberg, which will cause you to turn left approximately twenty metres from the off-ramp’s Stop Street. Proceed to the top of the bridge to the set of traffic lights. Turn left at the set of traffic lights onto Klipfontein Road which is signposted to M5 Muizenberg. Proceed down Klipfontein Road passing under a fly-over bridge and carry on across the first set of traffic lights. Thereafter, move into the right lane where you will turn right at the next set of traffic lights, causing you to take the on-ramp to the M5 South. Proceed on the M5 and after approximately 4.5 km you will pass the Ottery Road turn-off, Exit 19, on your left –hand side. As you climb the bridge thereafter, still on the M5, move into the right-hand lane. Approximately 150 metres further on, at the set of traffic lights, you will turn right towards Plumstead into Dick Burton Road. A green arrow appears on the traffic lights to enable you to make the right-hand turn into Dick Burton Road. Continue straight up Dick Burton Road and at the first road after the third Stop Street, turn right into Lympleigh Road. Drive to the first Stop street, and proceed through it, noticing a play-park on your right-hand side. PlumPark View is situated approximately opposite the centre of the park, where you will notice a silver railing. Press the bell on the pedestrian gate and Stuart and Colleen Rennie, the proprietors will meet you.

From Cape Town to PlumPark View
If leaving Cape Town on the N1 to Paarl, take the turn-ff to Muizenberg or M5 South and keep on the M5 South until you reach the Ottery Road turn-off, Exit 19, on your left-hand side. As you climb the bridge thereafter, still on the M5, move into the right-hand lane. Approximately 150 metres further on, at the set of traffic lights, you will turn right towards Plumstead into Dick Burton Road. A green arrow appears on the traffic lights to enable you to make the right-hand turn into Dick Burton Road. Continue straight up Dick Burton Road and at the first road after the third Stop Street, turn right into Lympleigh Road. Drive to the first Stop street, and proceed through it, noticing a play-park on your right-hand side. If leaving Cape Town on the M3 or Eastern Boulevard or Hertzog Boulevard, follow these respective routes until you drive downhill with Groote Schuur Hospital on your left hand-side. Proceed onto the N2 North, towards the Airport. Immediately after passing an off-ramp on your left-hand side leading to the M5 North, there will be a sharp off-ramp leading to the M5 South. Take this off-ramp and continue straight on the M5 until you notice the Ottery Road turn-off, Exit 19, on your left-hand side. As you climb the bridge thereafter, still on the M5, move into the right-hand lane. Approximately 150 metres further on, at the set of traffic lights, you will turn right towards Plumstead into Dick Burton Road.
