DESCRIPTION:

At Parker, we prove that luxurious accommodation does not have to cost the earth: by 2015, Parker will be totally ‘off-grid’ for water and power and recycling 90% of our waste.

Our rooms are as distinctive as us: from Afro-Colonnial to Provencale to Colonial South, with Middle Eastern influences, we’ve décor to suit any taste! We have a free WiFi network, legendary breakfasts, free garaged parking, and free use of a PC. Parker has two gardens (one shady with a Koi pond and one sunny with a sun deck), two guest lounges and a wonderful veranda for breakfasts and sundowner drinks.

Accommodation

We’ve a wonderful range of rooms to choose from, each one as distinctive as the next. Parker boast three types of room: firstly our Fantastic rooms, which are our largest and most impressive rooms. They have freestanding ball-and-claw baths, original mantelpieces and working fireplaces, deep armchairs and stunning, purpose-made beds. They also have separate showers.

Next are our Beautiful rooms which have either baths with showers over or shower rooms and air conditioning.

Lastly, our Cosy rooms, which have shower rooms behind partitions in the room and look out onto the garden.

We also have a Family Suite, a private two-bedroom apartment with a shower room and a private courtyard and its own lockable corridor to access the suite. We welcome children in our Family Suite but unfortunately no pets.

All our rates are room rates. We unfortunately do not offer single occupation discounts but please contact us for weekly and monthly rates, as well as regular specials.

Breakfasts

You’ll be amazed at our breakfasts: every day sees a different fruit salad, also influenced by African, European and Middle Eastern cuisine. Or perhaps you’d prefer a freshly baked croissant or bagel? Of course, we also serve the most fantastic full English breakfasts and have a wide range of cold meats, cheese and fresh bread to choose from too. You are welcome to eat outside on the veranda or in our grand dining room.

About Parker

Parker is a small, owner-managed business with five permanent staff, six if you count Busby, the Parker Poodle. We’re Liz and Phil, (the owners), and came to Cape Town from the Eastern Cape (Grahamstown) in 2006. We bought Parker Cottage in 2008 after a couple of years running another guesthouse, Mountain Magic Suites.

We’re also academics by profession: Liz works in the sociology of education and is writing her Phd at the moment and Phil has a consultancy, English for Africa, that develops language solutions for business and educational institutions. When we’re not at Parker, Liz likes nothing better than anything to do with horses, gardens and fantastic outfits! Phil’s never happier than when covered in oil working on his Land Rover, skateboarding or windsurfing at Langebaan.

Services

We have a free WiFi, use of a laptop or a communal desktop, free off street, garaged parking (on request) and access to local gyms too.
