The guest house has an African theme with luxurious furnishings throughout. AccommodationThere are four stylish rooms. All rooms have an ensuite bath and shower with heated towel rails. All linen is 100% cotton percale. Room 1 Room 1 has a king size bed with a separate entrance onto the patio, pool and garden area. Room 2 Room 2 has a queen size bed with a separate entrance onto the patio, pool and garden area. Room 3 Room 3 has a king size bed with a balcony looking down onto the pool area and a long view of the sea. Room 4 Room 4 has twin beds pushed together. HermanusNautilus Cottage is within 5 minutes walk from the centre of Hermanus with easy access to a wide range of restaurants, the historic old harbour, art galleries, gift and craft shops. The Cliff Path stretches along the coastline of Hermanus from the one end of town to the other. Benches along the way offer walkers the chance to stop and enjoy the sea views or watch the whales in the bay during the whaling season. There are several beaches such as Grotto beach, Voelklip beach and Kammabai, to name a few. The Fernkloof Nature Reserve offers several different grades of walks to view spectacular fynbos as well as views over Walker Bay and the surrounding mountains. Tucked into the folds of the Glen Vauloch Mountains on the outskirts of Hermanus lies the Hemel and Aarde Valley. Wine lovers can treat themselves to a unique wine tour among some of the southern most vineyards of Africa, with only the Cape Agulhas vineyards being further south. The Hemel and Aarde Valley is home to several vineyards who have produced numerous proclaimed wines over the last few years. Guests can do their own tour or a guided tour can be arranged. Hermanus offers the best land based whale watching in the world, as well as whale watching cruises, as well as air viewing of the whales, shark diving, golf courses, bird watching, horse riding, kayaking, quad biking, sailing, paragliding and snorkeling. DIRECTIONS: From Cape Town • Take the N2 South • Travel up Sir Lowry’s Pass and through the Elgin Valley • Travel down Houw Hoek Pass • At the bottom of Houw Hoek Pass keep left • Look out for the Hermanus sign and turn off to the left • Carry straight along this road past Fisherhaven, Hawston, Vermont, Onrus, Sandbaai, until you get to the traffic lights with the Gateway Shopping Centre on your right hand side. • After going straight through these traffic lights, look out for the Hermanus Veterinary Clinic on the right. • Turn right at the clinic into Albertyn Street • At the second road turn right into Church Street • Nautilus Cottage is on the right at No 11. |
