Set in tranquil and pleasant surroundings on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain in Somerset West, Mooring House Guest Lodge offers spacious and tasteful B&B or self catering accommodation. Good value for money and good hospitality ensures our guests have a memorable and enjoyable stay.

Moorning House Guest Lodge is situated at the gateway to the various wine estates and are in close proximity to 5 golf courses, namely Erinvale golf estate, Somerset West Golf Club, Strand Golf Club, De Zalze and Stellenbosch).

A perfect base to launch you daily trips, whether it be the Cape Peninsula, Hermanus (or other nearby coatal towns), golfing or inland trips along the wine route. The Strand Beach front and the Somerset Mall (for all your shopping requirements) is only a few minutes drive away as well as recreational activities such as hiking trails or horse riding. A supermarket, hair salon, dry-cleaner and restaurant is also within walking distance for added convenience to our guests.

Facilities


Adequate and secure off street parking is available within the premises, behind electronic gates. A sparkling and refreshing pool is also available to our guests. From the pool and garden area we have lovely views of the Helderberg Mountain as a backdrop and distant sea views in the front Pool and beach towels are provided.

Accommodation


In total the Guest Lodge can sleep 16 people. Our units vary from a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit with sitting area and equipped kitchen to garden facing luxury sized double rooms, each with separate kitchenette and private full en-suite bathroom (toilet, handbasin, shower and bath).

Our units are also equipped with TV, a coffee/tea facility, fridges, radios, safe and hair dryer. Other units consist of a 2 bedroom unit with a full bathroom and a standard unit with own ensuite. Some of the units have the added benefit of satellite (SKY) TV reception as an optional extra for those guests who like their sport or movies. E-mail, fax and Internet facilities are available as well as laundry. Barbeque ("braai) facilities are also available on site.

Breakfast


If our guests are not into a self catering holiday then breakfast around the pool or on the patio outside their unit can always be arranged. Light meals can be arranged for lunch or supper and picnic hampers can be made up upon request.

Additional Services


We also offer a shuttle service to and from Cape Town International Airport which is an approximate 20 minute drive away.

DIRECTIONS:

From Cape Town International Airport
Take Highway (N2) from airport to Somerset West. After 10 minutes driving you will pass an Engine service station on your left hand side. About 3 kilometers further you will pass an exit. Do not take it but carry on driving. The next exit is also about 5 km further - this is the one to take R44 / STELLENBOSCH / BLVARD.

At the top of the exit turn left towards R44/ Stellenbosch and the mountain. You will approach a big 4 way traffic light intersection and a bit further the Lord Charles Hotel on your left. At these traffic lights turn right into Somerset West. Turn left at the first road you approach after turning at the traffic lights - this road is HELDERBERG COLLEGE ROAD.

Drive up Helderberg College Road until you come to a 4 way stop intersection. Cross over and carry on driving up. You will pass a Spar and Wang Thai restaurant on your right. First road left after the stop intersection is Mayfair. Turn Left into Mayfair Ave and we are Number 4. MOORING HOUSE GUEST LODGE on the right hand side of road.
