Franschhoek with its wide selection of restaurants, including award-winning Le Quartier Francais and Ruben’s is known as the gourmet capital of the Western Cape. Nelson Mandela took his first steps of freedom from the former Victor Verster prison just outside Franschhoek. Franshhoek is only an hour’s drive from Cape Town and twenty minutes from Paarl and Stellenbosch. AccommodationThe penthouses are situated in a serene part of the village within easy walking distance of local restaurants, pubs, interesting shops and galleries, giving you an authentic taste of village life. Surrounded by softly splashing fountains and gently flowing waterways,they offer a warm and welcoming haven from which to explore the village and its surrounds. Decorated in a unique African-Colonial style,luxury and complete comfort are part of The Los Olivos experience. The PenthousesPenthouse 1 Has an open plan layout, is spacious and features a very private bathroom. It sleeps 2 (queen size bed), but can accommodate up to 4 as there is a sleeper couch. It features 2 balconies with views over the vineyards and braai facilities. It has an atmosphere of warmth and comfort,guests often comment that they feel so at home. Penthouse 2 Is decorated in the same style as Penthouse 1, but is more spacious. It features 2 bedrooms(can sleep 4) and two bathrooms. Each bathroom has both a shower and a bath. The living and dining area are open plan, but the bedrooms are very private. In the winter, take the edge off a chilly evening, light the old fashioned, wood burning stove and curl up on one of the comfy sofa’s with a good book and savour a glass of the excellent locally produced wines. In the summer, open the doors onto the spacious balcony, enjoy the fresh air and watch the sunset over the vineyards. Both our penthouses are serviced on a daily basis by Mavis, our housekeeper of many years. DIRECTIONS: Directions from Cape Town Take N1 from Cape Town towards Paarl. Take EXIT 47 marked Klapmuts. Turn right onto R44, drive under N1 motorway. Take second left marked Fraanschhoek R45. At T-Junction turn right. Drive towards Franschhoek. Once in Franschhoek, Los Olivos will be on your right, about halfway into the village. You will see the town hall on your left and Burgundy's Restaurant on your right. Shortly after Burgundy's is the AFRICAN ART GALLERY where the keys for the penthouses can be collected.
