This intimate and exclusive bush camp is situated on a private Game Reserve. 10,000 of the 70,000 hectare reserve is dedicated to the 24 species of game which include the protected Mountain Zebra and Bontebok. Red Hartebeest, Aardwolf, Kudu, Giraffe, Gemsbok, Klipspringer and Wildebeest roam the plains above the camp, and at night several species such as Black Wildebeest, Impala, Kudu and Bushbuck regularly visit the camp itself and can be seen from your chalet. The night sounds of jackal calling create the ambiance of Africa and make this a nature lover's paradise. AccommodationThe secluded bush camp consists of 7 chalets, a Lounge / Conference Centre, Bar and Boma surrounded by rocky crags and the Nuweveld Mountains. The chalets were designed and built by the game farm owner, Werner Koster, who exclusively used local poplars and stone for their construction. The Rustic décor is completed by slate floors, hand made furniture and wood finishes. Stylishly decorated, each chalet sleeps four with an en suite bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and own private braai (barbecue) facility. Each chalet has its own private parking area and is comprehensively furnished including fans for summer and heaters for winter. All the chalets have fully equipped kitchens for a self-catering holiday, including a private braai area. FacilitiesAt the campsite we have a swimming pool, a central lounge with DSTV, a bar and a boma where you can relax next to a campfire after a long day of exploring. We also serve dinner in the boma on reservation. DiningAll the chalets have fully equipped kitchens for a self-catering holiday, including a private braai area. Should you not feel like feeding yourself you can indulge in a meal prepared in true Karoo style next to the cosy campfire in the open air boma or in the privacy of your own chalet. Dinner bookings required on day of arrival should be made 24 hours before check in. Chalet salad packs can be arranged. Please let us know if there is any specific dietary requirements. To complement the fine Karoo cuisine we have a selection of superb local wines. Our bar caters for the needs of the discerning client. We offer exciting day or night game drives in an open Land Rover with a well-informed guide, or you can roam our 4x4 trails. For the more adventurous you can explore our hiking trails and refresh in one of the river pools, or spend some time in the bird-hide. The Camp also offers some of the best star gazing in South Africa with falling stars regularly spotted.
