This typical colonial Victorian-style house is set in an extensive lush garden which is home to a host of bird life. Enjoy this natural setting with its rock and indigenous flora, whilst sitting on the spacious veranda or ambling along the numerous footpaths. You will find this romantic and serene environment the perfect place to relax. ACCOMMODATIONIntaba Lodge offers five spacious en-suite bedrooms and two cottages, all of which have spectacular views. They are elegantly furnished with antique furniture and objects d’art from all over the world, yet the house retains a unique African ambience. The cottages are fully equipped and offer privacy and space. All the rooms and the cottages have ceiling fan or standing fan, heater or under-floor heating, may built-in cupboards, safe, hairdryer, tea / coffee facility. The cottages are equipped with CD / DVD player and DSTV. Some rooms have direct access to the garden with private patio, fireplace and kitchenette. BREAKFASTThe continental and cooked breakfast are served on the vast veranda with its panoramic views and sunrise. FACILITIESThe indigenous garden will enchant you with its riot of luminous colours and its charming lily pond with resident khoi fish. Here nature-lovers will appreciate the qualities of a well-preserved ecosystem. The Green House is a fine place to enjoy the garden, always warm and sheltered from the wind, it is ideal to relax with a book and a cup of tea! The pool, located above the house, and surrounded with indigenous plants, offers panoramic views on the mountains and the valley, a strategic place to soak up sun! After a fascinating day-tour of Cape Town or one of the numerous other attractions in the Cape Province, you will enjoy relaxing in front of a cosy fire whilst savouring fine wines from the region, or on sultry nights, sip your drinks on the veranda, under a starry vault whilst listening to the song of night birds. ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONSIntaba Lodge is ideally situated only 5 minutes drive away from unspoilt beaches. The Cape Town city centre and the renowned V&A Waterfront are only 20 minute drive away along the spectacular coastal road or alternatively through the famous Constantia mountain pass. The wine farms in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are only 45 minute drive away. Cape Point and the Simon’s town penguins colony is less than 40mn drive away. The Kirstenbosch botanical garden is only 10 minute drive away and so many more tours are at less than 2 hours drive. DIRECTIONS: From Cape Town International Airport: Take the N2 direction Cape Town. Just before Cape Town, exit the N2 and get on the M3, direction Muizenberg/Kirstenbosch (Exit 6). Drive for about 4 kms until the traffic lights and there, turn right and follow the M63 direction Kirstenbosch and Hout Bay. After the circle “Constantia neck”, follow direction Hout Bay and drive down on Main Road for about 4 kms and take the first road on your right : Disa River Road (follow the sign to Tarragona Lodge). Drive until the Stop and turn left in Valley Road. Drive pass the World of Birds and take the 2nd road on your right: Park Ave. INTABA LODGE, number 25, is nearly at the top of the road, on the left. From Cape Town city centre: Follow the sign to the cable car for Table Mountain and stay on Kloof neck road which will take you over Camps Bay and then follow the coastal road for about 15kms until you arrive in Hout Bay. Before the traffic light, turn left towards the World of Birds and 100m after, turn again in the first road on the left into Valley road. Drive until the first STOP and turn left into Park Ave. INTABA LODGE, number 25, is nearly at the top of the road, on the left. From Chapman’Peak Drive: Stay on Main Road, go straight at the first circle towards the second circle (below Imizamo Yethu). At the second circle, turn left following the directions to the World of Birds, then first on the right (Valley Road). Drive until the firt Stop and turn left into Park Avenue. |
