You will find the lodge for an eventful and relaxing holiday only 35 minutes from Cape Town, in the center of the wine country and adjoining the Helderberg Nature Reserve. Guest HouseThe Helderberg Forest Lodge lies in 7500 m² of landscaped gardens surrounded by healthy forests and magnificent mountain vistas. In the outstanding decorated main house you will find the reception, Lounge with fire place, the Bar and the restaurant in which we offer in the mornings a substantial and healthy breakfast buffet. For our popular dinners we serve a three course menu several times a week. The LodgesEach of our eight spacious lodges is uniquely and tastefully decorated. Air-conditioning, mini bar, telephone, safe and satellite TV is standard in all rooms. The bathrooms are en-suite and have shower, bath and hair-dryer. All lodges have there own sun patio facing the well maintained garden. The ApartmentsFour uniquely furnished two room apartments offer bed and living room with built-in kitchen, large en-suite bathroom and terrace with a view to the Helderberg Mountain. All apartments are air-conditioned. Telephone, mini-bar, safe and satellite-TV are standard. The spacious bathroom has a bidet, walk-in shower, bath and hair-dryer. Attractions & ActivitiesThe main sport in the area is golf. Several sophisticated courses like Erinvale, De Zalze, Stellenbosch and Strand can be reached within a few minutes drive and are only a small section of choices. Every other type of sport like tennis, horse riding and any type of water sport is on offer and we will be happy to organize that for you. Situated directly on the wine route, the Helderberg surroundings have a lot to offer. World-famous wine farms like Vergelegen, Boschendal, Neethlingshof or Nederburg, as well as the charming town of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are in close proximity. Directly at the Helderberg is a huge nature reserve inviting guest for a walk. The drive to Cape Town takes you 35 minutes. A drive along the coastal road to Hermanus might allow you a glimpse of the famous Cape whales. Or take the road to Cape Point, which it always worth a visit with its penguins at Boulders. |

DIRECTIONS: From Cape Town International Airport From the N2 take exit number 43. At the end of the exit turn left into the R44 in the direction of Somerset West/Stellenbosch and after 800 meters turn right into Somerset West Main Road. After 50 meter turn left into Helderberg College Road and follow that road for the next 4.7 km. This road brings you steady uphill and for a short while through a short bend downhill. On the end of the bend you will see the entrance of our parking place on the left hand side. |
