DESCRIPTION:
Glenconner offers accommodation in a choice of totally private and self-contained cottages, all with views onto magnificent mountain scenery. Accommodation consists of a choice of two self-catering cottages sleeping between 2 and 5 people, or B&B accommodation in the main homestead.
Situated five minutes from Stellenbosch in the Jonkershoek valley, with spectacular mountain views and a river flowing through the property, Glenconner offers the visitor the chance to hike in the mountains, stroll along the river banks, horse-ride or mountain bike.
Try your hand at trout fishing in the nearby dam, swim in the spring-fed pool or just relax and enjoy the tranquil setting.
Accommodation
Accommodation consists of a choice of two totally private and self-contained cottages and a double en-suite room in the Main Homestead. All have views onto magnificent mountain scenery, facilities for outdoor eating and barbecues. Each has a fully equipped kitchen and fridge and microwave, TV and telephone. All towels and linen are provided.
Glenconner Studio
Spacious, light and airy, the Studio is charmingly decorated and consists of a large 6m x 6m open plan double bedroom and sitting area, with kitchenette and bathroom with bath and shower. There is also a 2nd bedroom with twin beds. The patio is the ideal place to sample local wines whilst watching the sun set behind the mountains.
Glenconner Oak Cottage
Fully equipped self-catering family cottage with three bedrooms, one with double bed, 2 with twin beds, bathroom shared, and shower room off covered verandah. Wood-burning fireplace in open-plan siting room, private patio with barbecue in indigenous garden with views of Stellenbosch mountain.
The Main Homestead
Spacious, luxurious double bedroom with romantic four-poster bed, and en suite bathroom. Private entrance from the veranda overlooking the Jonkershoek mountains and natural river-fed pool.
Location
We are adjacent to a nature reserve and the well-known Boland hiking trail starts close by. Indigenous flora (fynbos) flourishes in this area and a hiker may even be lucky enough to spot the tracks of the elusive Cape mountain leopard.
Glenconner is close to excellent restaurants and wine estates and ideally situated for exploring the Cape, Franschhoek and Paarl or the beaches of Strand and Gordon's Bay (25 minutes). |
