DESCRIPTION:

Welcome to Cape Town and Gap Lodge, nestled on the slopes of Table Mountain.

Gap Lodge is situated in Tamboerskloof, halfway between the Mother City (as Cape Town has become known) and the majestic Table Mountain. Within easy walking distance of trendy and vibrant Kloof and Long Streets, with their many shops, restaurants, internet café’s and cinema’s. An easy 15 minute walk will take you to the city centre. Across the road from Gap Lodge you will find a small convenience store with an ATM facility and a liquor license.

The V&A Waterfront, Cape Town International Convention Centre, the city centre and the beautiful Clifton and Camps Bay beaches are all 5 to 10 minutes away by car.

Accommodation


Gap Lodge offers you three comfortable en-suite bedrooms. Each individually decorated, with an en-suite shower and toilet, dual air-conditioning (heating and cooling), digital safe, TV with M-net and a hairdryer. All bed linen used is 100% pure percale cotton. We use top quality mattresses and pillows so that you can be assured of a good night’s rest! Tea and coffee (and a glass of sherry) is available in the lounge area. You are welcome to check your emails or pick up literature in the tourism office downstairs.

Breakfast


Enjoy your breakfast with freshly brewed coffee on the terrace, while watching the squirrels frolicking in the trees. You are surrounded by magnificent leafy trees and can hardly believe that you are in a big city. Our 2 Siamese cats, Toulousse and Shira will make you feel right at home.

Facilities


Owners Le Roi and Linda assure you of a warm personal welcome and typical South African hospitality. Le Roi is a registered tour guide and will gladly assist you in planning your trips in and around Cape Town and up the beautiful Garden Route - either on a customized tour, group tour or self drive.

Transfers from and to Cape Town International Airport can be arranged.

DIRECTIONS:

From Cape Town International Airport / N2
• From the Airport, follow N2 freeway toward the City (do not take Muizenberg direction) until you see signs for the M3 freeway (Cableway). Stay in the left lane. Follow the M3 towards the City.
• Take the Mill Street (Jutland Avenue) off-ramp (it also shows signs to Table Mountain Cable Car. Look for large graffiti on the left hand wall before you turn off). Jutland Avenue becomes Mill Street.
• On your left side, you will pass the Gardens Shopping Centre with Pick ‘n Pay, then a bit further on the entrance to the Mount Nelson Hotel and the Labia Cinema
• Mill Street becomes Buitensingel Street. At the T-junction with Buitengracht street, turn left and follow the signs to the cableway. Buitengracht street becomes New Church Street (one way) and then Kloof Nek Road.
• Drive along Kloof Nek Road until you reach Newport Street (just after the Kloof Nek Superette on the left – look out for large Coca Cola Bottle). Turn left into Newport Street, GAP Lodge is the first house on the right hand side (no. 13 Newport Street) on the corner of Newport and Kloof Nek roads.

From the N1
• Proceed South west on the N1 to the first set of traffic lights you encounter which is the City / Sea point / Waterfront intersection.
• When you reach this first set of traffic lights, you are facing Table Mountain with the Waterfront entrance on your right. This is the start of Buitengracht Street (M62).
• Drive up Buitengracht street (M62) direction Camps Bay and Table Mountain and Cable Car Station.
• Buitengracht Street becomes New Church Street (one way) towards the Mountain and then the Kloof Nek Road.
• Drive along Kloof Nek Road until you reach Newport Street (just after the Kloof Nek Superette on the left – look out for large Coca Cola Bottle). Turn left into Newport Street, GAP Lodge is the first house on the right hand side (no. 13 Newport Street) on the corner of Newport and Kloof Nek roads.
