‘The Delaware’ is an uncomplicated and easy to find drive of 15 km from the airport via the N2, and one only needs to follow the cable car signs at the N2, which will lead you directly to the apartment. Parking space is plentiful, at the entrance gate or on the other side of the road at the hotel. Once you have arrived at this accommodation, you will notice that you are only a two minute walk to the upmarket Gardens Shopping Centre with banks, a large supermarket and cafes and on the way you will pass the very popular Asian Kitchen Restaurant. Across the road is a 24 hour boutique superette deli and bakery, which caters for the very discerning taste.
Activities and Attractions
A ten minute walk down the road will take you to Cape Town's much talked about trendy and bustling Long Street with its unique shops, people and atmosphere. A seven minute drive through the heart of the city centre will take you to the very popular V&A Waterfront, where besides the exclusive shops and restaurants, you can experience the amazing Two Oceans Oceanarium, take harbour cruises or visit numerous places of interest. The oldest building in South Africa, The Castle in the City Centre, is also a must to see.
Just up the road, a few minutes drive is Cape Town's world renowned landmark; Table Mountain and Signal Hill, from both you have breathtaking views over the Atlantic Seaboard, Table Bay, and Cape Town's World Cup Soccer Stadium. Just over this hill you find the four lively Clifton Beaches and the famous, vibrant Camps Bay.
As this apartment is right at the edge of the peninsular it is also the perfect position to start your tour by car or bus. World renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens is just 15 minutes drive away. The Winelands Tour also starts within a 1/2 hour drive. The West Coast, starting at Langebaan is a must, particularly in the beginning of spring in September, when the fields become a fairyland of flower displays (considered by many as one of nature's wonders of the Flower World). Advance information on when the flowers are predicted to bloom is essential, as the period is very short.
It is obviously impossible to mention all that can be experienced during your holiday, but what must be said is that Cape Town was not too long ago, rated as the world's top culinary destination, so all your senses are guaranteed to be well catered for. |
