DESCRIPTION:

Darling Lodge was the first guesthouse to open in the gentle Darling valley some twenty years ago. The beautifully restored Victorian home is an oasis of peace and tranquillity in the middle of Darling, surrounded by enchanting hills which abound with unique flora and fauna stretching to the dunes of the West Coast, forming a core area of the Cape West Coast Biosphere within the Cape Floral Kingdom, the smallest and yet the most diverse.

Accommodation

Darling Lodge offers a harmonious blend of old and new reflecting the romantic name of the little town. The main house, the Victorian charm of which has remained in tact, has three individually decorated rooms. The more modern garden annex consists of three further generously appointed rooms with a vine covered patio overlooking the sparkling swimming pool.

The rooms have very comfortable beds comprising of three doubles, one king and two twins and inviting crisp, white linen, they all have en suite bathrooms with choice of bath or shower. Each room bears the name of a local artist, whose work is on display and can be purchased.

Facilities

The lush garden with its ancient pepper trees, fountain spraying water over blossoming roses, aloes, bougainvillea and mass of lavender with its heady fragrance, is another attraction to lift the senses out of the stress pit. All this the result of Mother Nature assisted by our own Suzy Venter who lovingly looks after the garden. Her main focus however is the well being of our guests. This begins with her famous breakfast and does not end with an excellent concierge service. She is ably assisted by our long serving friendly team.

We offer secure off street parking, internet access, and a few select items in our in house boutique. We can accommodate small private functions up to 30 people. We are wheelchair friendly to a point. Children are welcome and we even cater for dogs. Dinner and lunch by prior arrangement.
