AccommodationCactus Lodge has five beautifully decorated en-suite rooms. Downstairs the dining area, decorated in a zebra theme, opens onto the inner courtyard where guests can sunbathe on sun loungers or enjoy the braai facilities. There is a fully equipped kitchen for you to whip up your own culinary delights. Relaxation upstairs includes a TV with DSTV (bring your own card) and video facilities combined with a games room and a sundeck which offers breath-taking panoramic views with additional braai facilities. You can almost fish in either of the lakes from the sundeck and the sunsets are something special. In the evenings you can gather together in the comfortable lounge which has a huge fireplace big enough to fit in logs the size of tree stumps. Activities for the adventurous These include shark diving, fantastic surfing, grade 3 white water rafting, kloofing, sand boarding down huge dunes, skydiving, paragliding, grade 16-30 mountain climbing, abseiling, day long hair raising mountain bike trails. (Bikes are available for hire from Second Hand Rose bookstore). Activities for the more relaxed Whale watching, visiting Stony Point Africa's largest land penguin colony, the world famous Harold Porter Gardens, relaxing on the endless uncrowded white sandy beaches, taking walks through the breath taking local fynbos and swimming in the crystal mountain pools and waterfalls or just reading a good book in a hammock on our sun deck overlooking the lakes or on a sun lounger in the sheltered courtyard. Second Hand Rose offers a great variety of second hand books and magazines at discount prices for those that are looking to relax and unwind. Our lodge also offers yoga and massage by qualified professionals by prior arrangements, as well as guided tours through the local fauna and flora by qualified guides. |

DIRECTIONS: From Cape Town: Turn off the N2 after Somerset West and just at the bottom of Sir Lowry’s Pass onto the R44. Follow the coastal road past Gordon Bay, Rooi Els and Pringle Bay .Turn off the R44 onto Porter Drive after the BP garage in Bettys Bay. After about 2kms go past the sign for the Stony Point penguins and take the next dirt road to your right which is Lakeside Drive. Follow that for 500m till you come to the corner of Lachenalia Road and you will see the signs for the Cactus Lodge. |
