DESCRIPTION:
Treat yourself with a visit in our thatched jewel and allow yourself to be spoilt in our individual B&B. We are conveniently located for easy access to all amenities the winelands are famous for. We are surrounded by excellent vineyards and some of the best restaurants South Africa can offer.
Located in the green University area of Stellenbosch, we are within walking distance of the historic town centre but still can enjoy the tranquility of a residential area; you do not have to use your car to enjoy our good restaurants, museums, cafes.
Accommodation
While the outside is all thatched cottage, the emphasis inside is on style, modernity and function: clean lines, natural materials, modern fittings in bathrooms and high-quality orthopedic beds.
Fresh Design
We rent out rooms furnished with love. All rooms are different, friendly, some bright, some nicely shady and cool. Every room has a different character. We combine modern design and African atmosphere to give you an African but comfortable experience. Either you see as the first one in the house the sun rising or you can track stars through a skylight window at night from your bed; or enjoy a sun-downer on your private wooden deck watching the sun setting; or relax after an exciting day in your big designer bath tub.
African Rooms:
In these rooms we combine African elements with modern design: A lion’s head meets bamboo ceiling and thatch roof, a glass basin, a designer bath tub or township art. Moreover we offer highlights like tracking stars through a skylight window at night from your bed or enjoy a sun-downer on your private wooden deck watching the sun setting. All rooms are equipped with modern private bathrooms that have a shower or a bath tub. Beds have orthopaedic, extra length (2m) mattresses. The African Rooms are perfect for honeymooners.
Garden Suite:
The Garden Suite consists of two rooms - one room with a generous double bed (2 mattresses each 2m long) and a smaller room with a cosy sleeping couch (sleeps one adult or 2 kids) - optimal for guests who want to enjoy an apartment or want to share with friends or family. The suite has a big private bathroom with 2 basins and a shower. Open your door and stand in our garden with the big, sparkling pool.
Umdeni Suite:
The Umdeni (“Family” in Zulu) Suite is under the romantic thatch roof and is dominated by natural materials. This suite consists of two spacious rooms - one room with a generous double bed and a second room with a big sleeping couch - optimal for guests who stay longer with us and want to enjoy a spacious apartment or want to share with friends or family. The second room is also perfect as private lounge with desk and working area. Additionally you have a little lounging area on the gallery. The suite has a big modern bathroom with a shower and a bath tub.
Art Room:
Something for the individualist. This room is specially designed for innovative people who enjoy visual creativity and a good price. Direct access to the garden and pool area, wooden floors and a modern, en-suite bathroom. Sleep in a comfortable queen-size bed with an orthopaedic, extra-length (2m) mattress and dream of Austin Powers.
All rooms have access to our big breakfast / dining room, the beautiful garden and the big pool area, where you can refresh after your daily tours. In winter you can visit our cozy lounge where a fire burns on your command.
Facilities & service
Awake each morning to a gourmet breakfast that is served alongside our big and sparkling pool. It guarantees never to get boring, as we serve a homemade surprise like “Fruity Djibouti” or “Cup of Good Hope”, the so called catch of the day each morning. It's healthy and gives you the power you need for an exciting day ahead.
After your breakfast you will be perfectly prepared for trips to our famous vineyards combined with a winetour, a golf match on the 3 Stellenbosch courses or a stroll through the historic town. At the end of an exciting day you can relax at our big, sparkling, chlorine free pool.
