A Whale of a Time is an owner-managed self catering establishment in Fish Hoek, Cape Town, offering a variety of accommodation in luxurious and tastefully decorated self-contained apartments, each with spectacular panoramic sea views.

The apartments accommodate from 2 to 6 guests and have fully equipped kitchenettes, bathrooms en-suite, TV, M-Net and satellite connection. The salt-water residents’ pool is surrounded by wooden decking where guests recline on sun lounges and bask in the sunshine. Enjoy an un-obstructed view of the whales during whale season.

Perfectly positioned to view the whales that visit every year, we are a 5 minute stroll from the tranquil Fish Hoek beach with its soft beach sand and warm water.

Beluga Penthouse Apartment
Two bedrooms with an open plan sun-lounge and fitted kitchen. Main bedroom has a queen-size bed, and built-in cupboards, and the second room has two single mounted bunk beds.

There is a Victorian bathroom with a slipper bath and beautiful furnishings. The fully equipped Oregon kitchen opens into the open plan lounge with sea view and sundeck.

The furnishings are soft voile curtaining, maple floors, and solid Oregon furniture. The apartment has a TV, M-Net and is linked to a satellite dish from reception.

Dolphin Studio Apartment
This open plan studio apartment has been tastefully furnished and has stunning 180° sea views.

The studio with queen-sized bed is furnished with cane furniture and a fully equipped Oregon kitchenette. It opens out onto the Victorian balcony through lovely French stained-glass doors. The seaview is stunning and being north facing, the sun pours through in the mornings. The second bedroom has two single mounted solid oregon bunk beds. Ablutions consist of a large shower room, beautifully appointed and sparkling clean, with basin and loo. The apartment has a TV, M-Net and is linked to a satellite dish from reception.

Neptune’s Garden Apartment
A three bedroom, two bathroom (one Jacuzzi bath) spacious garden apartment overlooking the sea. Self-contained and perfect for a family or a group of travelling friends. It has a well appointed fully equipped kitchen / dining area with large eating bar counter. Open-plan to a sunny, comfortably furnished family sized lounge with sliding doors open to the exclusive garden.

The spacious fitted main bedroom with an oregon double bed and en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath and hand-shower, basin and loo. The second bedroom has twin 3/4 oregon beds, while the third bedroom contains single mounted solid oregon bunks beds. The sparkling clean, bathroom is fitted with bath and overhead shower, basin and loo. All bedrooms open to the garden and are within sight, sound and scent of the sea.

All living rooms have majestic sea views and open directly into the private garden, complete with loungers, a dining area, water feature, wooden swing seat and views that never end.

Orca Apartment
Luxurious, spacious 1 bedroom apartment with magnificent sea views, and is tastefully decorated. This apartment consists of a large sun-filled lounge, open-plan with dinette and fully equipped oregon kitchen area and large eating bar counter.

Comfortable double bed with French, stained glass doors open out onto the balcony with view of False Bay. Romantic victorian bathroom with slipper bath and candle candelabra, as well as a spacious shower.

Penguin Apartment
Luxurious, spacious one bedroom apartment with magnificent sea views, tastefully decorated. Consisting of a large sun-filled lounge, open-plan with dinette and glowing oregon fully equipped kitchen area and large eating bar counter.

Comfortable twin ¾ Oak beds with French, stained glass doors open out onto the balcony with view of False Bay. Romantic victorian bathroom with slipper bath and candle candelabra, as well as a spacious shower.

Southern Right Stone Cottage
Sweeping views across False Bay to the Hottentots Holland mountains beyond. Fully self-contained with a well-fitted kitchen and cosy lounge. It sleeps four people in two en-suite bedrooms upstairs and with a shower and the offer of an extra two beds downstairs, can stretch its accommodation to six.

A queen-size four poster wrought-iron bed invites you to 'lie-in' and watch the seascape through the dormer windows. In the room is a TV, screened Victorian rolltop bath and basin and separate loo. The second bedroom has twin ¾ wrought iron beds and a bathroom, also with victorian bath and loo, en-suite.

Downstairs are the tastefully furnished lounge and an open-plan and fully fitted solid wood kitchen and bar counter. TV includes SABC, MNet and DSTV. Also downstairs is a shower, basin and loo room. The living room has French doors opening directly into a tranquil garden with its crystal clear, salt water swimming pool and wind-free patio overlooking Fish Hoek Bay.
