The beautiful setting is pervaded with an air of peace and tranquillity and offers sublime panoramas. The perfect base to explore the Winelands, Cape Town and beyond. Affordable luxury in a tranquil, inspiring environment. The completely renovated Tuscan style villa lies on a 2 hectare country estate, entirely surrounded by vineyards. A portion of our grounds, which consist of excellent soils, is planted with organically cultivated Shiraz grapes. The views all around are breathtaking; rolling vineyards and mountain chains as far as the eye can see. To put it briefly, these are restful and inspiring surroundings, which form the best possible base to explore Stellenbosch, the Winelands and the Cape. AccommodationAllegria Guesthouse offers six comfortable guestrooms in three price ranges. The rooms have been given the name of a typically (South-) African animal. The stylish and contemporary design is tuned in with the respective animal and is therefore different for each room. Our Comfort rooms Cheetah and Giraffe have all modern conveniences, including: XL beds (queen size or twin beds), heating, ceiling fan, satellite TV, fridge, kettle with tea and coffee, safe, hair dryer, bathroom with 'rain'shower, toilet and twin wash basins and a private patio. The more spacious DeLuxe rooms Rhino and Zebra also have a bath and a separate shower in a semi-open plan bathroom (separated toilet) and lockable interconnecting doors. On top of this, the extra large Superior rooms Lion and Elephant also have air conditioning with heater, CD/DVD player, a designer bath and twin ‘rain’ showers. Sorry, no smoking inside, no pets. DiningBody and soul are well cared for. In addition to the very comfortable rooms with their XL beds, our guests are spoiled with a delicious breakfast, which is - weather permitting - served on the inner courtyard. The breakfast we serve, is comprehensive, with fresh fruit, home-baked bread, fruit juices and yoghurt, serials and muesli, free-range eggs prepared to your order and a delectable muffin. In season we also serve light evening meals (cheese platter, salads). Our honesty bar contains a hand-picked selection of fine wines, all produced by neighbouring estates. Later on the day, you can sip a glass of wine beside the large (20 m.) swimming pool. The regal lounge has a fire place, library, satellite TV and internet computer/WiFi. Business Centre / ConferencesBusiness Centre: In the reception you can use telephone, fax, printing and copying facilities. Boardroom: Allegria has its own modern, yet intimate conference facility (for 10-12 delegates) in an inspiring setting and with a lovely view of the seemingly endless vineyards. The board room is especially well suited for meetings, brainstorms, product presentations, seminars, workshops, training sessions, assessments and wine tastings. The equipment includes a digital projector, CD / DVD player, VCR, satellite TV and internet access. Location & AttractionsFrom our guesthouse you have easy access to: Dorp Street, the central street of Stellenbosch (7 minutes) Cape Town International Airport (20 minutes) Strand Street, Cape Town (30 minutes). There is a wide selection of restaurants, wine estates and golf courses within easy reach. In addition there are endless possibilities for day trips, e.g. to Robben Island, the Cape of Good Hope, Simon’s Town / Boulders beach, Franschhoek, Paarl, Chapman’s Peak/Hout Bay and many more. DIRECTIONS: Allegria Guesthouse is situated along the Stellenbosch West Wine Route, halfway between Stellenbosch and Kuilsrivier. Route from Stellenbosch centre (Dorp Street) Drive down Dorp Street in a westerly direction, into Lower Dorp Street At the T-junction at the end of Lower Dorp Street make a left turn (direction M12 - Kuilsriver) Stay on the M12 for 8 km and turn right into Cairngorm Road. Route from Cape Town/Somerset West via the N2 Follow the N2 until exit 22a (direction R300 - Bellville) After 5 km on the R300 turn off at exit 21 (direction M12 - Stellenbosch Arterial) At the traffic lights turn right (direction M12 - Stellenbosch) Follow the M12 for 10 km and turn left into Cairngorm Road. Route from Cape Town International airport Leave the airport and go straight on at the roundabout After 1,5 km go to the left (N2 – Somerset West) After 6 km take exit 22A (? R300 - Bellville) After 5 kms take exit 21 (? M12 - Stellenbosch Arterial) At the traffic lights turn right (direction M12 - Stellenbosch) Follow the M12 for 10 km and turn left into Cairngorm Road. Route from Cape Town/Paarl via the N1 Follow the N1 until exit 27 (direction R300 - Mitchell’s Plain) After 10 km on the R300 turn off at exit 21 (direction M12 - Stellenbosch Arterial) At the traffic lights turn left (direction M12 - Stellenbosch) Follow the M12 for 10 km and turn left into Cairngorm Road. Cairngorm Road is also the driveway to Allegria Guesthouse. Enter the main gate and continue on the driveway for 200 m along the fence; now you face Allegria Guesthouse. |
