About The Witzenberg Country Inn
The Witzenberg Country Inn is owned and managed by a committed husband and wife team, Nan and Andrew Buttle. As your hosts, we are passionate about giving excellent service while providing warm hospitality and comfortable accommodation in the Winelands.
The Witzenberg Country Inn is a charming guest house, previously an hotel, that has been converted to provide outstanding bed and breakfast accommodation in double or twin rooms all with private en suite bathrooms. Each spacious room has been decorated with care while the comfort of you, our guest, has been the primary concern throughout. Outstanding bedding, first rate mattresses and large mirrors are but some of the aspects that make a stay at The Witzenberg Country Inn a pleasurable experience.
All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, ceiling fans and heaters, as well as television. Hair dryers are available as well as ironing board and iron.
DSTV sports channels are available in the lounge as well as our air-conditioned sports bar. In the bar you can enjoy a relaxing drink and get to meet some of the "locals". A refrigerator for use by guests is available and free ice can be collected from our sports bar. Relax in our comfortable lounge, on a shady patio or around our delightful splash pool.
Our guest house is well known for our hearty South African breakfasts that you will enjoy in our sunny breakfast nook.

The Witzenberg Country Inn provides convenient access to all the activities, wine estates, wedding venues and other places of interest in the area.
Tulbagh, located in a valley of abundance, is situated on Route 62 and is only 120 kms (or 80 minutes drive) north of Cape Town. The valley is surrounded by three mountain ranges that are often covered in snow during winter. Set in this magnificent landscape, Tulbagh is famous for its unspoiled natural beauty and peaceful country lifestyle.
The area was extensively damaged in a devastating earthquake in 1969 and many of the old buildings, of mostly Cape Dutch architecture, were all but destroyed. A huge national effort resulted in many of these buildings being restored to their former splendour. Tulbagh now boasts in excess of 30 provincial monuments. Visitors can stroll down Church Street and see the buildings as they were between 200 and 300 years ago. A number of museums in this historically significant town are worth a visit.
Tulbagh boasts a number of excellent restaurants that cater to a wide range of tastes. Sampling the award winning wines on a tour of our internationally known wine estates is not to be missed.
The valley has gained a reputation as a venue for unforgettable weddings at affordable prices. The outstanding scenery, good catering, exquisite chapels and reception venues plus an abundance of guest accommodation makes Tulbagh a sought after wedding destination.
