ACCOMMODATIONPrivate plunge pools and braai areas, open fireplaces for winter nights, and large verandas for relaxing on all cottages combine to make this a special and memorable escape. Orchard Cotage Orchard Cottage has two double, ensuite bedrooms. Two extra single beds can be easily set up in the lounge area for extra guests/children. The main bedroom has a large fireplace for cosy winter evenings. The open plan kitchen/dining area/lounge has a large fireplace and doors opening out onto the shady veranda, with its private, built in plunge pool. The cottage is fully equipped for self catering and there is a braai available. Stone Cottages Stone Cottages each sleep 2 adults and offer an open plan bedroom, lounge and kitchen area opening out onto a shady veranda with views over the Valley. The cottages have fireplaces for cosy winter evenings, and a refreshing plunge pool on the deck for your own private use. The cottages are equipped for self catering including a built in braai outside. Eagle Cottage Eagle Cottage sleeps 2 adults and 2 children in bunk beds in a smaller children’s bedroom. There is a fireplace inside and a private built in plunge pool on the shady veranda. The cottage is equipped for self catering, including a built in braai outside. All towels, linen and firewood are provided in each cottage. ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONSWelbedacht Nature Reserve breeds live game for reintroduction into other reserves and guests can view springbok, bontebok and zebra the in the 12 hectare camp adjacent to where the cottages are. For the fishermen, offers fishing in of its dams, stocked with Widemouth Bass, Tilapia and Cape Kurper. For the adventurous there are walks through the nature reserve (which joins up with the Winterhoek Mountain Reserve) as well as mountain biking, bird watching and swimming in the dams. Horse riding and wine tasting are available on adjacent farms. Tulbagh town is only a 5 minute drive away, and offers a good selection of restaurants and bars, as well as art and craft shops, museums and national monuments. Adjacent to the Reserve, The Blue Butterfly, our beautifully renovated and restored barn, is the perfect setting for yoga retreats, workshops or special occasions.
