About Vuna Valley
‘You will never want to leave!’ Vuna Valley is a magical place set on the doorstep of a magnificent river that winds through breathtaking cliffs into a gorge where the only cries are that of the fish eagle. A place where you can breathe easier, sleep better, dine at your leisure and let even your watch unwind.
Vuna Valley Ventures can be found on the doorstep of the magical Umtamvuna River and Nature Reserve. This breathtaking indigenous subtropical valley is home to 250 bird species, including majestic fish eagles and horn bills and small inquisitive mammals such as the rare Samanga monkey and bush buck, a few of which visit us daily. A short six minute drive takes you to the quaint town of Port Edward, where the beach is always the place to be and the locals are like the weather – warm and welcoming all year round.
Vuna Valley is a luxury guest house and boutique backpackers with a bush lodge feel. Most of our Afro-chic styled rooms are en-suite, have their own separate entrances, covered patios, air conditioning and spectacular views of the gorge and it’s magnificent cliffs.
Grab an ice cold beer or glass of wine from our bar. Enjoy delicious, home cooked, local cuisine in our communal dining room, grab a book from our library and chill out in the lounge, or braai your freshly caught fish under the lapa. Catch some rays next to the pool or grab a picnic basket and head upriver to the secret beach in one of our canoes. We can also cater for small functions and offer inclusive packages to suit smaller budgets.
Our guests tell us that there is something about Vuna Valley that makes them truly relax, forget about time, sleep better and never want to leave. We endeavour to give our guests the best possible experience and will go out of our way to help you make the most of your holiday, whatever you may require.
