About V'knsi Khaya
V’knsi Khaya is a new self catering cottage situated in an ideal position in Clarens, within a minute’s walking distance to the square where restaurants, shops and galleries are placed around the hub of the town. The cottage is well insulated for the cold winter months and is also cool in the summer months. A west facing patio has views of the Rooiberg Mountains which surround the town.
Self Catering Accommodation
The cottage sleeps four, in two bedrooms, each with their own shower, basin and toilet en suite. There is a double bed in the one and twin beds in the other. All linen and towels are provided for guests. All beds are fitted with electric blankets in the winter months, and there is a portable oil heater.
The living area of the house is spacious and open plan. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances necessary for self catering:
• Under-counter oven
• Fridge / freezer
• Pots and pan
• Cooking utensils
• Tea and coffer making facilities.
• Glasses, cups etc
• Washing machine.
• H2O water purifier
From the lounge, double sliding patio door secured with Trellidor doors, open onto a patio with a spectacular, uninterrupted view of the mountains which surround Clarens. There is a small Weber braai on the patio.
The house is equipped with a flat screen TV and Premium DStv package, (no need to bring your own decoder and card) as well as a small music / hifi system with CD player. There is secure off road undercover parking for two cars.
Activities and Attractions
Visitors to Clarens have a variety of activities to choose from and they include white water rafting, horse riding, quad biking, hiking, tennis, squash, trout fishing, art courses, golf, abseiling, mountain trails and nature reserves which also have some bushman paintings.
Enquiries for all these activities can be made at the local information centres in Clarens. At present there are two superettes, ABSA, FNB, Nedbank and Standard Bank ATMs, and most other convenience facilities such as a small pharmacy, bakery, butchery, two service stations and a liquor store. Restaurants and coffee houses abound, and interesting gift and interior decorating shops ensure delightful shopping.
