Great place, we camped in the overland camping, great views and very peaceful. The ablutions were clean and fully working along with the pool and braai areas.
The pizzas we had there was some of the best pizza I've had (available only on fridays).
The only thing that wasn't great was that the ground we camped on was mainly just sand, I would've prefered grass as the sand got hot and got everywhere, next time I think we will rather camp on one of the private camp sites as those sites are mainly grass.
We booked for 5 nights and stayed 1 night - the campsite is really overpriced, compared to what you pay at other campsites. The only positive is that the staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a private camp site. The facilities were run down and in need of serious renovations. The braai area was full of cob webs and not properly cleaned. The bathroom was also in need of an upgrade (but it was clean). The biggest issue we had with the camp site was that it is situated 20 metres from the main road with alot of ongoing traffic during the day and night, with many trucks passing through during the night with screeching airbrakes as they realise they need to turn of at the Lamberts Bay turn off which is right opposite the entrance of Vensterklip. So don't expect a peaceful nights sleep. Futhermore the campsites are predominantly made up of sand with a few patches of grass. The camping rates are overpriced for the facilities and the location, considering that you can go and camp for half the price at top camping facilities that is tucked away in nature far away from traffic on a main road that is 20 metres behind the campsite....
We only visited for a meal , but was dissapointed that we had not found this place earlier on our stay in Elandsbaai , there food and staff were fantastic and we did not want to leave . If you visiting elands and are looking for a self catering cottage or a camping spot , go here . !! Great vibe !!
We camped in one of the overland camp-sites. The staff and personnell were very friendly and helpful. The ablution block was claen and had more than enough hot water in the showers. The camp site was also recently renovated and in good condition. Could do with a bit more grass though. The pub had got a great vibe and the one-man band performing at the restuarant next door had exellent guitar skills. Because of the location this place has got great potential. Overall a great experiance and place that I will visit again if I went that way.
