About UnderHill Farm
UnderHill Farm is a private olive farm, close to Cape Town, yet completely secluded, away from public roads and bordered on either side by two streams (the Bot Rivier and its tributary, which meet at the bottom of the property) and the neighbors wine farm on the other side.
Self Catering Accommodation
The farm house is rustic yet modern, with two en-suite bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed and a loft area with two single beds. There is a modern kitchen, indoor fire place, undercover braai area, pool, olive grove and large garden.
The farm house is perfectly positioned on the stream bank to take advantage of shade from ancient oak trees (planted by Willem van der Stel) during summer and soak up the winter sun in winter.
The farm strives to lessen its footprint, with the existing farmhouse having been built from recycled material from houses in Cape Town (think old sash windows and shutters, teak doors and recycled parquet flooring) and wattle wood railing from streams on the property.
The farm is less then 100km from Cape Town, on the van der Stel Pass between Villiersdorp and Bot Rivier. Part of the road (3km) is dirt, but in excellent condition and accessible by all types of vehicles.
The farm is close to hiking and cycling routes as well as the Botrivier Wine Route and next door to Eerste Hoop, one of the wine farms in the valley.
Cape Canopy Tours is a 20 minute drive away, as is Theewaterskloof Dam, with its associated water sports.
