Twiga Lodge is found in Phalaborwa, a famous town in the Limpopo province of South Africa. Phalaborwa has a tourism industry based on its entrance gate into the famous Kruger National Park. The area is abundant in wildlife including the Big 5. There are also several wildlife rehabilitation centers in the area as well as top game hunting farms.

Self Catering Accommodation

The lodge is fairly remote with a feeling of separation from the town and hotel. The design theme is based on a thatched bush lodge. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large with a massive open plan lounge / dining and kitchen area. All areas are dominated by a double volume ceiling under the aromatic thatch roof which is the main feature of this design.

The lodge has its own private secure parking, a dedicated swimming pool, and an oversized covered BBQ area with Gas Grill. The interior is well appointed with high spec appliances and furniture. All living areas are air conditioned with ceiling fans. The venue forms an ideal base between golfing and safari’s.

Golfing

Twiga Lodge is located at the Hans Merensky Golf Estate just 1km out of Phalaborwa. Hans Merensky Golf Estate is a well-known golfing destination, having reach no.6 as one of the best golf courses in South Africa. This golfing venue distinguishes itself as one of the original courses with wildlife roaming on it. Animals such as giraffe, impala, kudu, warthogs, water buck all roam the course during play.

Estate Facilities

Another feature of the estate is the hotel and spa. The hotel includes a conference facility, two restaurants, a halfway house, a huge poolside bar area and a separate 19th hole pub which overlooks the 18th green.

Twiga Lodge is located on the 6th fairway of the Bob Grimsdell designed championship course, and is appropriately perched looking down the fairway.
