Umtentweni Accommodation / Tweni Waterfront Guest Lodge Umtentweni Accommodation / B&B or Self Catering Accommodation in Umtentweni

The Tweni Waterfront Guest Lodge lies on the North bank of the Umtentweni Lagoon, 3km North of Port Shepstone. We are 120km from Durban and its revamped international airport. Margate (15km South) also has a small airport with vehicle hire services. We are easy to find (on the R102) and only 100m to the beach (great for kids as there are no roads to cross!)

Accommodation

The Tweni Waterfront has four upmarket family units (self catering) and 4 double rooms. All rooms are en suite with TV, fans and tea and coffee facilities.

The rooms are all on the second storey with stunning views of the lagoon and sparkling Indian Ocean (sunsets to die for!). The resort offers self catering, bed only, bed & breakfast or dinner bed and breakfast options. Our rooms are serviced daily by our professional and friendly housekeeping staff.

Dining

The resort boasts a full a la carte restaurant open daily for breakfast lunch and supper.

Small Conference Facilities

We also have a small meeting room “boardroom” which can accommodate 12 - 15 guests (Prior arrangement essential).

Facilities

Outside facilities include a lovely swimming pool overlooking the lagoon, beautiful terraced gardens, braai facilities, a kiddies trampoline, an 18 hole mini golf course and a jungle gym. We share beach access with a block of holiday flats onto a private beach (excellent fishing and surfing). It is an easy walk onto our neighbouring Tweni Main Beach. Tweni beach has year round lifeguards and a unique "granny pool" that is extremely safe to swim in.

Activities and Attractions

Arguably the world’s best beaches with year round warm water, great rock and surf fishing, deep sea fishing, surfing, kite surfing and sunbathing. Seven nearby golf courses and a local country club that welcomes guests to play squash, tennis, bowls and golf.

The Oribi Gorge with its stunning views and extreme adrenaline adventures. (190m high gorge swing - said to be the highest in the world). Deep sea diving, charter fishing, whale watching and pleasure trips. Hiking and nature trails abound and there are plenty of local pubs, restaurants and cinemas to enjoy.

Busy Margate in the South is only 15km away and the The Wild Coast Casino is a 30 minute drive away. Why not shop till you drop at the Shelly Centre or the brand new South Coast Mall. Don't forget our annual Sardine Run - referred to as “The Greatest Shoal on Earth". This phenomenon occurs between May and July every year and turns the sea into a wonderland of frenzies feeding porpoise, game fish and literally thousands of white gannets (this truly is something to witness!)

We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful Sunny South Coast. We are blessed with warm summers and mild winters. Our sea temperatures are warm, we’ve got the best beaches, great waves, excellent fishing, and a super laid back lifestyle ... All year round!
