About That Place
That Place is a comfortable, friendly house where you can spend a good, relaxing holiday. Forest and pastoral views, rich birdlife – and, if you are lucky – elephants wandering through their paddocks across the valley!
Self Catering Accommodation
The house has three bedrooms on two levels. Two bedrooms upstairs: the master bedroom (king size bed) with en-suite bathroom (bath and shower) and private balcony.
The children’s bedroom (twin bedded) with lots of books, toys, teddies and a dress up box to keep our junior guests engaged. The second bathroom is next door to the children’s bedroom and has a shower.
The third bedroom is accessed from the wooden deck and is downstairs – a lovely private space, with its own balcony and views down the gorge.
The central area is open plan with a free flow from the undercover verandah with its BBQ and lounging and al fresco dining space into the main living area with its open plan design (kitchen, dining, lounge) through onto the wooden deck overlooking the Elephant Sanctuary.
The kitchen is well equipped and in the lounge area there is DStv, music, DVD’s, games and a real holiday bookcase!
Swim in the deep clear swimming pool surrounded by trees and birds, or take a sauna. The pool area is fenced – so safe if little ones are around. The garden is private and there is undercover parking.
On a balmy African evening, enjoy a traditional braai (barbeque) and feast at the great wooden table. Or, spend lazy hours on the deck, thinking of nothing in particular.
Part of the fun of being in this area is the plethora of activities, from Bramon Wine Estate with its award winning wines and superb lunches right next door - and the burgeoning wine route in the area: Newstead, Redford Lane, Lodestone & Anderson Wines, to name a few, to the amazing animal sanctuaries: Monkeyland, Birds of Eden, Elephant Sanctuary, Jukani Wildlife Centre and the Tenikwa Rehabilitation Centre, we even have a snake sanctuary at Lawnwood. And that’s quite apart from the glorious beaches, fine restaurants, superb arts and craft route and amazing walks in the various nature reserves that surround us.
