About Tanamera Lodge

Follow a winding road into the forest and you shall find Tanamera Lodge, nestled on the malaria-free slopes of the Sabie River Valley. Offering luxurious accommodation and breathtaking Lowveld scenery, Tanamera is a peaceful and relaxing retreat, perfectly situated for exploring The Kruger National Park and the Panoramic Route on the R536 between Sabie and Hazyview.

Tanamera is a birder's paradise and home to birds such as the Narina Trogon and Purple Crested Turaco.

We are 4 star graded and offer beautifully decorated rooms with personal touches and attention to detail. The main lodge area is tastefully decorated and comprises a dining area, a lounge and a comfortable bar area. You can step down onto our main deck where there is a rim-flow pool and absorb the exceptional views over the cascading Sabie River Valley.

Accommodation

All five Luxury Chalets offer large bath tubs and waterfall showers, hair dryers, insect repellent and king size beds draped by romantic swathes of mosquito netting. Each chalet is complete with a tea and coffee selection and small bar fridge, a log fireplace to keep you warm over wintry nights and ceiling fans for hot summer nights.

In addition to this, the two Honeymoon Chalets offer open-door outside showers on private decks with outstanding valley views and a sitting room / dining area. Each chalet is secluded, private and surrounded by the unspoilt indigenous bush - ideal for romantic getaways.

Breakfast & Dining

Meals are served in our main lodge area, on the candle-lit deck, or privately in your chalet or on your deck.
Our Rates include dinner as well as bed and breakfast.

Spa Treatments

We offer rejuvenating spa treatments from hot stone massage to reflexology, sports to Swedish massage, to manicures and pedicures, all brought to you in the privacy of your own chalet. A couple's massage is ideal for a romantic getaway. Please enquire on booking to secure treatments.

Off-site activities in the Hazyview area, which can be arranged by Tanamera, include:

• Day and night open vehicle drives into the Kruger National Park

Experience South Africa's largest, and most famous, game reserve, the Kruger National Park, by booking onto an open vehicle safari drive. Alternately, ask us for recommended self-drive routes into the park and we would be more than happy to help. The Kruger Park's Phabeni Gate is just a short 30-minute drive away.

Spend a full day absorbed in Mpumalanga's most spectacular scenery. Visit the 3rd largest canyon in the world, the Blyde River followed by Three Rondawels, Bourkes Luck Potholes, God's Window, a light lunch in Graskop, South of Graskop, where the Sabie River rises are numerous waterfalls tumble down the mountains, visit the beautiful Berlin Falls and Lisbon Falls.
