Swartberg Backpackers offers pet friendly self catering accommodation in the lovely area of Matjiesrivier, Oudtshoorn.
This area offers a tranquil getaway while still being close to many exciting activities and attractions to keep you busy during the day, such as canoeing or swimming at the nearby dam, exploring the 4x4 trails, the Cango Caves, Gamkaberg Nature Reserve and a trip through the art, cheese, chocolate and liqueur route.

There is an open-plan living area with a kitchen, built-in braai, lounge, dining room and table tennis set. Outside there is a braai area overlooking both the waterfall and farm dam.

Swartberg Backpackers makes use of solar electricity, gas and wood fires instead of electricity. Solar geysers provide warm water and there is a gas water heater for overcast or rainy days.

Wonderfull host. We arrived while it was raining. He helped us with wood and even to get the fire going. Stunning views and walking trail.

It was much better than just a backpacker! Its more like a guest farm. Lovely area, beautiful farm, the hosts were wonderful and friendly to us! We would recommend it for a family weekend where you can take your fur-kids as well and your kids will have a complete ball! Loved it 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍
